Oh What Fun It Is To Ride....

...in a one horse open sleigh....well we didn't quite have it that good but it was fun. Saturday was deemed a Boedecker Family day and we started by going sledding by the Playhouse. You know I have lived here for many years and never gone up there but the kids have been asking so I thought sure why not! Oh my gosh what a fun time, for EVERYONE!! I have never heard such laughter and holy wow do they get going FAST!! I was so nervous to let Janaya go but she laughed and giggled the whole way, you just had to be at the end to stop her or she would go on forever....HA! I even managed to go down once! Oh to be a kid again! I don't know how many times Brit had to walk back up that hill I do know it is a "big" hill! I think we will have to do it again very soon! And then I will have to remember the CAMERA!!! That night we took them to Alvin and The Chipmunks....OMG CUTE!!! They laughed and laughed it was so great. Janaya wanted to go the "store" when we left the theater to buy it and was so upset that we just couldn't do that! I wish it didn't take so long for the movies to come out on DVD!

Sunday was a relaxing day and the kids enjoyed more time outside! They are getting a bit anxious for break to be over now and it will be sooner then they know.
I hope everyone has a great New Year's Eve I am looking forward to ringing it in with my hubby oh and as a Non-Smoker...HA! Still going strong and feeling great about it!! See you next year....

10 Days!!

First off I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!!
I have been so busy I have completely forgotten my blog. We had a great Christmas here at the Boedecker's. We enjoyed Christmas Eve with my mom and step dad and all the aunties, uncles and cousins. We went to church then for supper at Grandma's and finally the kids got to open presents, I honestly don't think they could wait any longer! HA!

Christmas Day we spent home as a family and it was so nice. The kids got everything they asked "Santa" for and much more, truly blessed I must say!

Now to my title of this post....drum roll please....today is the 10th day of "NO SMOKING"!! I (we Brit too) have had no cigarettes what so ever for 10 days! I am feeling pretty strong about it now and think I am gonna make it this time! Cold Turkey is the hardest thing to overcome but if the will is there nothing can stop me and I got it this time. I must say I am PROUD of the both of us and I am gonna keep saying it!!!! I am not craving much at all anymore, I smell GREAT and don't taste like an ashtray!!!

Last night I returned bowling and it went pretty well, little sore today. It was nice to be out with the girls again. It was hard to sit with them as everyone of them smoke!! I did really well and actually didn't "want" one, the smell made me sick. Anyway it will be nice to be back bowling as I do enjoy it!

Jordon had an appointment yesterday with Dr. Ermer a child psychiatrist in Sioux Falls. It went pretty good and he has some good plans on how to try to help Jordon. He did start him on a new medicine to go with his Concerta so I am a bit nervous but trying to stay optimistic! The new one is called Geodon and is supposed to help with controlling OCD symptoms. We will see him again in 2 months unless he starts having problems before then or the med causes problems. We also see Dr.Blake in February.

Anyone got big plans for New Year's? As of now we are planning to spend some time with the kids and then go out to the bowling alley to see some friends and family. Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday and great starts to the new year!!

Good News...Good Weekend...

I got a call from Dr. Blake on Friday late afternoon and they changed their minds about admitting him right now. He said if we can avoid it around the holiday we should do our best. So we are keeping a close eye on him and giving it our all. He will see Dr. Ermer a child psychiatrist the day after Christmas and start working with him as well. We started his new Concerta dose on Friday and so far so good!

This weekend we went to Fargo for Brit's cousins wedding. It was the first time the kids and I met that side of his family and after 4yrs it was well overdue! He has a great family and it was so much fun for all! The kids got to spend some much needed time with G-ma Davis and they soaked up all they could!!!

We had to rush home Sunday for the kids x-mas program at church. They did such a good job and looked amazing. We got them all new outfits and they looked like princes and princesses!! Don't worry I got pictures!! HA!
The kids ready for the x-mas program!
Just before the
wedding at the
hotel!

Roller Coaster Ride???

I'm back...sort of!! Wow what a week this has been for me, so many emotional up and downs, mostly downs!! Last week my best friend of 12 years said the most hurtful words I have ever heard, or would even say to my worst enemy! It has been building for quite some time and I finally stood up to her and told her things I know she didn't want to hear! She really needed to hear them and if nobody was going to do it who better then your BFF right? I was truthful and standing up for myself as well as her daughter. Well in retaliation she called me and said things about my "disabled" son that I WILL NOT repeat!! After I hung up on her I slammed my fist into the cupboard 3 times and balled uncontrollably. When it was all said and done with I was sure my arm was broke, and to the doctor I went! Luckily for me it's not broke but bruised really bad. One of the xrays was really questionable but they still said not broke! So last week I was wrapped and in a sling all week with little to NO use, talk about painful and impossible! This week I am down to a wrist splint but much more use, and tolerable pain! I am getting more and more use every day. I was so upset at myself for doing that but when I repeat to myself what was said I can't help but think any mother would do the same! As for the friendship its done forever, it honestly should have been that way many years ago. Too many lies, manipulations and wrong doings have gone on and I deserve better then that and won't stand for it anymore. I know in my heart have much better friends out there! The sad part is I don't even miss her, I actually feel a huge burden is lifted!
I haven't been able to lift much more then "a pair of pants" with it yet so I haven't bowled the last 2 weeks either, talk about crazy.

Now onto my latest heartbreak, Jordon! Most of you know Jordon's disabilities and also that he has had many behavior issues all his life. Well we are having much troubles lately and he has actually become a danger to himself and others at times. After visiting with his doctor it has been decided he needs Inpatient Treatment and evaluations. He would like to admit Jordon to the Avera Adolescent Behavior Unit in Sioux Falls for an indefinite amount of time, and then possibly to the Children's Home Society after an Acute stay at Avera! Right now he is thinking Monday for an admission date but I will know for sure on Friday. As sad and heartbreaking as this is especially with Christmas being so close it is for the best and will make a huge difference in his life too! If Monday is the day then on Sunday after their church Christmas program we will have a mini holiday for Jordon and let him open his gifts! This is one of the hardest things I have had to do with Jordon, he has gone thorough this 3 other times but not for more than a month! Please pray for Jordon and his healing!! I will keep you posted on him as I know more!

Not much else has been going on here. We are going to Fargo on Saturday as Brit's cousin is getting married! There is lots of his family I haven't met yet and will get to this weekend so that should be fun! The kids will get to swim and enjoy Grandma Davis also. Oh did I mention water slides?? YES!! Well I am feeling like I am over doing it will post tomorrow when I get some news!

Lesson Learned....

The lesson learned is never get so angry you lose control and hurt yourself!! At this point I really can't sit and tell the whole story but do intended to when I am able! It appears I might have broken my arm so this is hard as it is!! I am "lefty" only right now and also lost a longtime friend! I will be taking a short break till I am able to do this with out pain or get it figured out! I hate to keep you wondering and hope all are well! See ya soon!!!

Not much is planned for tonight as he has bowling. When we went out on Friday we knew it was for both of us! I am hoping when Courtney gets here tonight its not too late and she can sit with the kids so I can at least go spend some time with him at the bowling alley. Happy Birthday honey I love you!!!

They Are Home...

What a great weekend we had! The kids got home Sunday night, well we picked them up at 6p in Sioux Falls! I don't know how soon Kenny will do that as Jordon gave them quite a run and left stuff broken! All in all they had a great time and missed mommy alot!! Lots of hugs and kisses!! When we got home we put up the Christmas tree and other holiday decorations around the house! I took a picture but don't have it on here yet....I know I am slacking!!

Over the weekend Brit and I got lots accomplished here at home. We got the boys room painted except for one wall which will be easy to get finished. I will have to take a picture now that I got it all put back together! We got lots of cleaning done and spent much needed quality time together as well.
Friday morning I spent alone...no daycare kids as well!! Kari popped over for about an hour to bring me our cake....AWESOME!! Friday afternoon we went to SF and ate at the Olive Garden and then went over to Penny's and each got something for our b-days! I am now 28 and he will be 27 tomorrow!! We got home about 8p and then went and visited Jill and Andy for a bit.
Saturday we lounged ALOT and then went over to Flandreau for a few hours that night.
Sunday was cleaning, painting and putting stuff in the shed for winter! We were going constantly from 10a till we finally got ready to go for the day at 4P!!! It was a good time but I was so anxious to see my babies! I didn't even talk to them on the phone this time so I was feeling the empty spot. I enjoy the alone time with Brit but I tell you if I didn't have the kids things would get mighty boring around here in a quick hurry!

Today is definitely Monday and everyone is in full force here!! I hope everyone had a great weekend as well!

Listen Do You Hear That?

That is the sound of peace and quiet, and no kids! Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! We had a wonderful day visiting and spending time with family first at my mom's then my dad's! I got to do plenty of cooking and cleaning up oh and eating! Tonight the kids left with Uncle Kenny and Aunt Jill for the weekend in Parkston! We will pick them up Sunday at 6p in Sioux Falls! I plan to get lots done this weekend and enjoy some quality time with my wonderful hubby!! YAY! Also tomorrow is my 28th birthday!! So a definite supper at Olive Garden is in line, after that I don't know maybe some shopping??!!

We had a pretty good week. Julia had a musical on Monday for Thanksgiving and it was great as always. She got to dance the Tango and did great!
I called Dr.Blake about Jordon's med also, things were heading for disaster! He is taking him of the Prozac, Thank God!! You would not believe the change I am seeing already, amazing, he brought home a good report from Mrs. Fjerstad and Mrs. Wilkens on Friday...YAY Jordon!! Things at home have been better too!
Janaya is sprouting a cold so she has been so stuffy and a bit crabby the last few days, hopefully it clears fast for her! Jackson has had a quiet week, he has been working on his letters, rhymes and math like crazy this week, he is so intrigued by learning new things it is so awesome to see!!

I hope everyone had a good and blessed holiday!!

Conferences!!

Thursday night we had parent teacher conferences and with 3 kids they always schedule them weird, this year it was 6p..6:15 and 6:30! For some reason it never works out that way and someone always has to wait for us to get down to them!!

I'll start with Julia! Mrs. Eich had the most amazing things to say about her! She said she is her best student and is the most beautiful caring little lady! She looks for Julia to win most of the barn trips if not all of them, WOW that is better then I thought she was doing and looking way into the future!! She brought me to tears more then once, I am so proud of the little lady she is becoming! Her grades are wonderful and according to a reading test they were given she is proficient at the 6th to 7th grade level and she's only in the 4th grade...AMAZING!!! Mrs. Eich told Julia she will go far in life and she is such a people person that she should be a doctor or someone who works with people, again I cried! I just couldn't be more proud!!

Jackson was next with Mrs. Osteberg. She had wonderful things to say about Jackson and how quickly he catches on to everything and actually needs to be challenged! She said "IT's like he is taking over his own education and running with it" ! WOW! She said at the beginning of the year he would play at play time now he sits and writes and tries to read and sound out words to spell! She said he is mastering what he has to know and much more, a very intelligent little boy! The only thing he needs to continue working on is more gentle play at recess, he tends to be rough but is getting much better! YAY Jackson!!

Now onto Jordon with Mrs. Fjerstad and Mrs. Wilken's. I am very frustrated with this conference and will try my best not to put my foot in my mouth! I am tempted to call and maybe set up a time to meet with them and discuss a few things but I am not exactly sure if the things I'd like to see change are possible, maybe I need to do some more research on my options! First of all in was very impersonal, I got the negative feeling right away that my son is an inconvenience and hasn't done any good since the beginning of the year! You see Jordon had a med change 3 weeks ago and since hasn't been the most pleasant or well behaved boy! And Jordon did cause some issues that will be quickly resolved but are you telling me he has done nothing posative?! Mrs. Fjerstad had a folder of papers and didn't pull out a single one!! She showed me his self evaluation and the handwriting guidelines and that is it! The conversation then went to the last 3 weeks and nothing else was discussed! Now I know from the papers he has brought home he is doing something right I just wish she had taken the time to share it with me. I honestly feel that the only way I will get anywhere is to work and talk only with Mrs. Wilkens! I am so hurt and frustrated I don't know what to do, I don't want to send him to Children's Care for school but sometimes Madison School District doesn't seem to be as concerned about this as I do!! I know there are some really great teachers and staff there but it's the ones that aren't that hinder children like my Jordon...

I hope everyone's little one's are doing well. Have a great weekend!!

Every Two Years.....

Today was my appointment with Dr. Sumerer about that cyst under my arm. OK first of all I KNOW I should have gone in about 6 months ago but I have such a time dealing with myself when I have too many other people to be taking care of! Well the outcome is it is not a quick office fix and I will again be going under the knife! UGH! The area is going to be too large for a local or for me to be awake...talk about scary!! So on Dec 11 I will be getting it done!
Now the title of this post, I will give you a quick history: in 1997 I had my gall bladder removed: in 2001 I had a c-section: 2003 I had a blockage removed from my sinus: in 2004 I had another c-section and in 2006 I had a hysterectomy! It's like every two years I have to have surgery, how do I break this chain of unfortunate events?! I know I need to take better care of me but this is just not right! On the other hand the surgeon knows me well enough and I trust him so that takes alot of worry out of the process!

Enough about that, this weekend we got the bathroom done!! Julia's room needs just a few area's touched up and it will be done too...YAY! I plan to get started on the hallway and the boys room this week!! The boys room is the worst so maybe that first then I can list the place for sale because it would be presentable then!! Guess I should get busy then.....

Before I go a quick Janaya funny or two: Naya had just woke up from a nap!

Jordon: Janaya today we...

Janaya: I don't care...

Jordon: Just listen at...

Janaya: I don't care...

Jordon: WILL YOU STOP THAT AND LISTEN TO ME:

Janaya: I said I DON'T CARE....

Jordon gives up and says "geez you are so rude"

Lesson learned, don't talk to her when she awakenins as she don't care!!

Later on when Brit and I were discussin painting "Julia's" room she stood here listening and looking rather puzzled. Finally after a few minute she said "mommy I know thats my room too" Oh goodness I didn't mean it to sound like she didn't have a room, YIKES! At least she knows! Have a good week!

Veteran's Day

I will start this post with a Thank You to all Veteran's of our country! I would especially like to Thank my brother, Kenny and to let you know how proud of you I am and how much we all love you! I am honored you are my brother and have the utmost respect for you! I also pray for the men and women still at war for our country, God Bless You ALL!!

Uncle Kenny and the kids when he was on leave.....Dec 2004!

This is the only pic I have of him in Uniform...

Now on to our busy Monday. Since Brit is home from work today and my mom was able to watch Brayden and Natalye we headed to Sioux Falls with Janaya. I was told of this place called Habitat Restore that sells material and supplies for the home at discount prices. I looked it up online and found it looked legit so we thought it would be worth checking out. I am so glad we did as we got 2 bedroom doors, a towel rack and toilet paper holder, paint for the boys room (dark grayish blue) and the hinges as well for less then $40!! WOW!! We then went to Walmart for some more white paint and wall patches and misc and spent less then $40 there too!! Talk about a visit from the "bargain" fairy!! HA! Anyway I was very pleased and can see a light in this tunnel again, with those kinds of prices and knowing we can get the rest of what we need there I think things will get done quicker then it looked. The bathroom is done for the most part and tonight I will finish painting Julia's room!! I will have to take pic's when I get closer her room being done!!

Belated Anniversary!

I realized today when reading baby Jack's birthday post that I had to have been blogging for at least a year because I remembered his birth announcement post! So I went back and found that I indeed started posting on November 1st 2006! So Happy Blogging Anniversary to me!! This last year has been so many things! I have met lots of neat people, rekindled old friendships, learned of some school mates happenings, and learned alot about myself as well! I look forward to many more posts and wonderful days of blogging with you all! Thank you for being a part of my life and for letting me be apart of yours!

Do not follow me I may not lead...Do not walk in front of me I may not follow...Walk beside me and be my friend... I saw this saying today and found it to be inspiring!!

She's A Beauty...

I have to give Kerrie a BIG thank you for a very wonderful job on my hair! I have never been so happy about my hair! It put a huge smile on Brit's face as well...YAY! The picture I am posting doesn't show it as well as I had hoped but it looks great!

Not much else has been going on here this week, I got some painting done but it is taking alot longer then I thought! This weekend Jackson has a b-day party to go to so he is super excited about that! I am hoping to get some much needed cleaning and painting done here as well! Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Now how many times do you suppose Janaya has had us watch this?? Happy Halloween!!

This and That

We had a wonderful weekend here at the Boedecker's! Friday we went on our bi-weekly grocery trip to Walmart and got costumes for Halloween also! This year Julia will be Cleopatra...Jordon a ghost..Jackson black spider man and Janaya is going to be Ariel the Little Mermaid!
That is so funny because she had been telling me all week she was gonna be Tinkerbelle and I was so praying that they would have one left or we were gonna be in trouble. Well when we were looking we found it right away and she was so happy, then Julia showed her the Mermaid and she forgot about Tinkerbelle like that!!! What....how do they do that??!! Anyway it is gonna be totally cute so look for pics probably Thursday!!!

Saturday Jackson and Julia went to a Halloween party given by some friends and had a great time! They had a haunted house in their basement and when we picked up our kids we got to go through it, talk about cool! I actually got scared twice!! I have to give them 2 thumbs up for the effort and creativity they put into it!
When they got done with that we carved our pumpkins with the kids! I will have to make a slide show of the pics I took it was great fun! Jordon was not impressed with "diggin" out his pumpkin and I ended up doing it, he was NOT putting his hand in there!!! He has always kind of be a tactile defensive guy when it comes to some stuff, he had a great time though!

Sunday while the kids were in Sunday school Britt and I went to the hardware store and he got the rest of his materials for under the house work and I got some "hole" filler and finally Primer so I can get started with my part of the work!

Ok on to busy Monday...wow I am beat and the week just started. First of all I'll start with myself. I have had this cyst under my arm for awhile and have let it go mostly because Iam too busy with everyone else to worry about me until it really hurts! HA! Well today I went to the doctor and got it "opened" only to be told I need to go see the surgeon because it's too much for a regular office visit! I'm sure you didn't want to hear that but hey it's going on in my life! So I see Dr. Summerer here in town on Nov. 13th.
We were told about this place that buys mobile homes and called the place today. We are waiting to hear back but hoping this might be able to help us get out of this place quicker then it looks now! I talked to Jeff this morning and the plan is now to wait 2 weeks before we sign or let it go! PRAY for something good to happen in these next few weeks!!

Well I think that is it up till now, I made my appointment today to finally get my hair done again! November 9th come soon please! I am planning on cutting it again and coloring with highlights, the change is gonna be drastic but welcomed. I can't help but think that if I felt better about what I looked like I might feel better all around too! Will post after Halloween...everyone have a great time Wednesday!!

Thursday, October 25, 2007

OH BOY!

I got a call from Jeff today and the sellers of the house we have been waiting for since June want to know if we are ready to get stuff going and signed to close January 2nd 2008! Oh BOY comes in now!! We are not ready to list our home and can't sign saying yes unless we are prepared to make 2 house payments until this is sold!!??? I am kicking my arse right now for skipping such a major part although I didn't expect this to happen either! So now we need to make some serious decisions and get our arses in gear, probably OVERDRIVE!!

On another note Jackson got into a fight in front of the school yesterday! A friend of his was telling him he is not invited to a Halloween party and he was arguing that he was, next thing you know both boys were rolling on the ground and yelling profanities to each other!! Can you believe this, and there were no teachers or anyone around to stop it! I spoke with Jackson about his "competitive" attitude and fighting is not an option no matter what! He was made to apologize even though "I didn't start it" ! Now the profanity part I will not stand for, not here or at school so I went with what my mom used when we were young...Hot Sauce! OMG it killed me and I hated it but I am hoping he will not choose to say naughty words again no matter what!! It is so hard for him because he sees Jordon act this way and say words that are not good so he thinks he can!
Julia is different behavior wise then Jackson and Janaya, I often wonder if it's because they are younger and have grown up seeing Jordon's "behaviors' at a critical age! I just don't know how to break the cycle, Jordon is going to continue to do some of the things he does and I know that but to keep the younger kids from doing what big brother does is another story!

Well I am going to go ponder on my thoughts now, have a great weekend!!

Tiny Talk Tuesday

I will start with a few cute things the kids have said lately!

Jackson came home the other day telling me that he has been learning big words at his school and that he learned how to say "hospital" which he says " hostable" so cute! He is a very good clear talker but this word gets him every time!

Janaya was able to pick a prize out of the treasure box on Monday and she picked a headband! When she got home she was so excited to show me her "hairstlye"! Today she wanted to wear her hairstyle to school! She absolutely says it is not a headband but a hairstyle...lol!

Julia was telling me about a boy in her class that is so nice and talks to everyone but is a bit too quiet!! After the story she said "I don't know but I think he is too sensitive for me"! Umm OK! HA!

On to other news...we got a new water heater put in on Sunday night and it is such a relief! I couldn't believe the difference and I think our old one has been going bad for awhile! Oh well it's over and time to move on! I am not gonna let these obstacles get me down and will keep trucking at it!
I got a call from Jordon's doctor today they are gonna leave the Concerta dosage at the current level and start him on Prozac as well for the OCD symptoms! So it should be interesting to see what changes occur! Not much else to report right now, have a good week!

Water Heater...Who needs those...

And the answer is US!! I keep thinking positively that things are going to work out an we will get this place fixed up and sold so that we can run and never look back! HA! Well now it's the water heater, which is in our closet, and its shot! The big problem is there is water everywhere but where it should be!! Alot of stuff in our closet got wet and ruined and the walls are soaked and the carpet in the closet and around it outside as well. The panel that hid the water heater is totally ruined and there is sitting water under the heater! I sucked water up last night and have been running a dehumidifier nonstop, still not dry!! Who knows how long it's been leaking either. I noticed about a week ago that the carpet in front of the closet was damp but couldn't tell why so I just brushed it off and didn't tell Brit till later. Well last night we noticed that is was quite wet and started digging to find the mess. Now I am beside myself and not sure what else could go wrong...oh boy...KNOCK ON WOOD!!!

The thing I am most upset about getting wet is the little bit of wedding material I had! I had a big envelope with our cards and marriage certificates in it. Somehow it was out of the tote and got wet! I got it dried out but you know how stuff looks like after it's been dried! I didn't have a big or smooth wedding so this little bit of memorabilia was VERY important to me! Well I will keep my chin up and hope something goes our way soon!! Have a Great weekend!!

It's a Bad Day to be a....

Deadbeat Dad around me! This post maybe a bit personal to share but my blogging "buddies" seem to be a good relief to me so here goes! I am mad as a hornet today after my child support hearing this am with Micheal Jordon's father. He requested a modification to get it lowered once again. Well this time he got his wish.ERRRRR! He makes very little and has 2 other children he has to pay support on and now I am the one getting the least??!! He pays $431/month on a girl in Utah so you'd think that would be the one to lower, but I am not a genius so I could be wrong!! Needless to say my child support from him just dropped by $189/month! They only take an extra $25/month for the arrears owed which are over 12K now, yes that's right! What a joke the state is with child support sometimes!

I am on the war path now and going to look into modifying my other case on Julia. He has only had to pay $80/month her whole life and it's time to see if maybe that can't be changed. It's not my fault that these men have other children to pay on and that they can't seem to find any better job! It is my problem that I was with them at all but at least I take care of my children and don't try to get out of it. They are beautiful amazing children and I have never understood why someone wouldn't want to be a part of their lives!

Well enough about that it just makes me angry. It's been a good but busy week. Monday was my mom's b-day, Happy B-day mom!! We went over for cake and pizza Monday night! We are getting tired of the rain and being wet and cooped up but looking forward to a dry weekend. Have a great Thursday!!

Where am I ?

I am finally finding some time to return to blog land! I can't believe it's been a week since I have posted. Not sure where to start...I guess with myself is good! I had a really low week last week and am finally starting to feel like "me" again! On Thursday I quit smoking, or at least started too! I have been having 2 a day since then. I am all out of them now and hopefully I make it! I have been saying for along time Iam gonna quit not just for me but my kids for sure! I am giving it all I have and just hope it gets easier soon!

Jordon had another appointment in Sioux Falls on Monday which went well but got a recommendation I don't really care for. They want Jordon to see some special counselor in Sioux Falls, that would mean frequent trips there and when am I gonna fit that into our lives. I bend over backwards to do what I need to do for him but this one seems a bit much! I am waiting to hear from Dr. Blake on a few other things that have been done as to adjust his meds.
The other kids are doing well. Jackson is loving school and especially his "group" of friends!! Julia earned a "trip to the barn" last week from her teacher and her and a few other kids from the class got to go to her farm and ride her horses! In order to earn this you have to have 2 or less tally marks on the chart AND good grades! She was so excited for that and had a great time! Janaya is busy as ever and adjusting well to school, it has brought some changes at home with her behavior but nothing major!

Another "big deal" in our household this week is Whiskars...

I am sure these will be hard to see with the background but I am just not ready to change it or just haven't found one I like enough to...HA!

TIny Talk Tuesday!

Happy Tuesday to everyone, I will start this post wit a conversation between Janaya and I this morning while I was getting her ready for school!

(the set up: we were sitting on the floor putting ponies in her hair)

Me: Oh baby you are so pretty!

Janaya: Yep better then you mom, right?!

Me: (choking) Umm..yes...but you don't have to rub it in!

Janaya Oh, OK thanks!

Oh she is so darn cute sometimes. I know she is prettier then me but it's hard to hear from someone so innocent that I have lost it!! HA!

As you may have noticed I changed my template! I like it but when I changed it I forgot to save all the "extras" I had on it! So I have spent hours trying to put everything back on it. I am still missing a few blog addresses I had. I also had taken all my pictures off my computer and put them on disc's so I need to either pull those up or just take some good one's and use them, I think I will do that so they are updated pictures, might as well freshen everything at one time right!! So it's work in progress and look forward to more changes! Oh and have a Great Day!

Dr.Blake Visit

Today Jordon had a visit with Dr. Blake his Developmental Pediatrican in Sioux Falls! We haven't seen him in months so this was a good and much needed visit! Jordon has grown from 49 inches tall to 51 inches and 91 pounds to 108 pounds since then! He is still doing well academically and continues to progress at this time! He is socially lacking and not showing much sign of improvement in making friends or even wanting to make friends the way most children do. He talks about a few girls from his class which is odd for a by his age but even they are not "true" friends!

Jordon has been displaying some other behaviors or obessesing about somethings that are not good! I won't go into much detail about what but he is just heading for trouble if they continue! So in order to figure out all the details he is going to be evaluated by Child's Voice next Monday by a team of specialists to determine the root of the issue and or if it's just part of his OCD! Either way we need to find some answers. After that and the teachers and I fill out a extensive questionere he plans on adjusting the Concerta dosage a bit higher and starting him on a SSRI to help with his anxiety and being "obcessed" with different things! So there is work to do but I think good things will come and help bring Jordon closer to living more easy or comfortable.

The weekend was good we spent lots of time cleaning out closets and other "junk" ! We talked to the owners of our home and were making sure we could get out of our contract only to find out that we need to stay here till it gets sold! OMG are you kidding me!! Ok so now we need to do some repairs and updates to this place and place it for sale! The price they are asking is ridiculous and to high but it's there choice. The problem is until someone buys it we are stuck or will be paying 2 house payments. I am so mad that I didn't check on this months ago but I am gonna do my best! I got a game plan of what we need to do and the painting and updates I need to do now it's just getting the time and fitting it into the budget plan!! I keep praying that this just falls into place soon!

I hope everyone has a great Monday!!

When Tackle Fails...Try Wrestleing...

As most of you know Tackle has been a big issue for the kids and boys at school and home as well! Jackson has found that wrestleing is a good substitute for this and today quickly realized IT"S NOT!! He and Janaya were wrestleing and she jumped on him and he threw her back and she hit her nose on the bar of the bunk bed!!!

It appears to be broken but they won't do anything for it so we are just watching it at home! It looks so much worse in person but I did take some pictures...it doesn't seem to slow her down or break her spirit!! UGGH... kids!!

Family Day!

Saturday was set as a Boedecker Family Day! We started with the Homecoming parade downtown which was lots of fun! The kids love seeing everything and of coarse grabbing as much candy as you can!! Julia did a good job and made it through the long march! I thought all the way down Egan and then back down to the softball diamonds was quite a walk but she said it wasn't too bad!! I got some pictures of the day and they will be in the slide show!

We then went home and painted pumpkin's together which was a great laugh and not to messy! I posted pictures of that on the slide show as well.

In the afternoon we headed to Brooking's for shopping expecting to have a good time. We got to Burger King and as soon as we got in the door Janaya started puking on me and the floor!! UGGH! We got her a pop and the rest of us ate and then got into the car thinking it was gonna be OK, nope as soon as we got to Walmart she started again in the van!! So Julia and I ran into Walmart and basically ran as quick as we could while Brit and the other kids waited in the car! When we got home Janaya seemed fine and kept some soup and 7-up down! She played the rest of the day and then ate supper. After that she puked again and then ran off to play as if nothing happened!? She got up Sunday am and has been fine ever since, I have no idea what was the deal but glad it's over!

I hope everyone had a Great Weekend!!

Is The Doctor In?

My favorite day of the week is here and it has not been so good! I have been feeling a cold coming on the last few days but when I got up today I was stuffy, coughing and horse! I hope it passes quickly and that all the stuff I am pumping into me is not a waste!

Today has been rough for Jordon as well. I got a call about 11am that he had fallen from the Monkey bars and was hurt! Of coarse Brit had taken the van to work today so I couldn't go get him and so I called my mom at work and she was able to go to the school. She called and said she was taking him right to the clinic so I had to call and give them permission to treat him. Well after all the x-rays they say its probably just a bruised rib! I was so worried that he had broken something..but he is feeling pretty good right now ! It was so nerve racking not being there with him or knowing what was going on, thank goodness it was my mom there!

This weekend brings the Homecoming Parade which is always fun for the kids! This year Julia will be in it with Gymnastics so that should be cool! Hopefully I can get some pictures of her!
Saturday we will also head to Walmart for all the usual groceries! I sometimes wish I could just call in an order and have them delivered...HA!
Tonight we are looking at another house that I scheduled a few weeks ago so we'll see how it goes! I am thinking that we are still interested in the one on NE 3rd and it will be a tough one to beat!
Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Update

I didn't hear from the Bus Supervisor right away so I called him, this is horrible I gave him my number mixed up so he got Lewis Drug when he called for me!! Anyway I said my piece he said one of the boys has been written up 2 times already this year...it has only been a month!! The other boy he said he would have the driver talk to and if it happened again to call him back immediately! I think he was truthfully on my side but we'll see if they get ahold of it now!!

We have been looking at a house seriously at 719 NE 3rd st and depending on a few things might make an offer on it! The sellers of the house we have been WAITING for are now saying Feb 1st or later, I am LIVID!! We will also be looking at one at 216 NE 9th St on Friday evening, it is being privately sold so it's not listed and I don't know too much information yet other then 4 bed 3 bath major remodeling done over the last few years! Will post after I see it then!

Happy Wednesday to all of you!

RACISM..PART 2

I can't believe I am having to discuss this again and only a few weeks from the last time it happened! "Stuff is gonna hit the fan now"!!!

Today when the kids got off the bus they were furious and all yelling a million words a minute as to what had just happened on the bus! A boy (that I know and do know his dad) had been picking on Jordon calling him fatty, retard, ugly and making "retarded" noises at him all throughout the ride! When Jordon went to fight back the boy PUNCHED him in the nose!! Are you fricking kidding me???!!! My kids yelled to the driver who told the boy to stop or he'd have to get off and walk. The arguing continued and so did the driver with the route as if nothing was going on there!!
Another thing that this kid did was stick his middle finger up and say "I am gonna stick this in your asshole" just like that! OMG can you believe this, I mean this boy is 9 or 10 at most 11! What the heck must Jordon be thinking when this kid is saying this? I am just sick about it! I pray for my kids to not have to keep dealing with this!!

I called the school to ask who I had to talk to about bus complaints she finally said to call the bus supervisor and if that didn't work I would have to work my way up! Again are you fricking kidding me??? Well I tried to call and got a dam answering machine! I left a message but I am pissed, if he doesn't call me back I might be letting some people or Mr. Walsh have it in the am!

Everyday my kids whine and beg that I pick them up so they don't have to ride the bus and that is not right! Somedays it works out and I can go get them but usually I have too many kids and they have t ride it, what the hell am I supposed to do. I shouldn't have to pay for private bus to protect them! I am so dam angry right now I will end this post...Hopefully you all are having a Great Day!!!

Another Weekend of Fun!

Once again we have had another great weekend here at the Boedecker's! I love the weekend's mostly because it's great family time!

Saturday started with our normal bowling for the kids, and they are doing great I might add! That evening Jackson had a play date with Dawson and Nathan at McDonalds. They had a BLAST and played really well together! Of coarse they wanted to play "tackle" right away but mom's were on top of it!! The boys brought Jackson some really awesome gifts and again we Thank You for them!!! It was such a good time for them and something I needed as well! Hopefully we can do it again!

Sunday we ventured to Sioux Falls to exchange some pants at JCPenny's! Jackson has not been to the Mall too many times in his life and he said "mom is this the mall, it's so cool" if he only knew! I mean we were only in Penny's, so I am thinking we need to take the kids one day and just go walk through so they can see! I might be glutting for punishment but hey it could be fun!! After that we went to Walmart for a few things and Jackson used some birthday money to buy a Spiderman game for the PS2!
When we got home we headed over to my mom's for a last summer cookout, FUN! I wish it wasn't the end of summer but another summer will be here before we know it!

I did post a slide show of the pictures I took this weekend of Jackson so enjoy! Have a Great Monday!!

September 21st, 2001

This is the day Jackson Reginald James was born weighing 8# 6 1/2 oz, 20 inches long. He was my 2nd son and 3rd born!

Tonight we celebrated Jackson's b-day with family at our home! We had cake and presents which you will be able to see in the slide show! Jackson got lots of spiderman this year and is so happy! I can't believe he is 6yrs old already, such a big boy! Kari brought over a spiderman cake too and her and Onna got to stay and enjoy it this time...YAY! He had a good night and will hopefully be able to have a birthday play date with Dawson and Nathan this weekend too!! FUN!

We also had a trip to the ER for Julia tonight. She came home early from school because she got something in her eye and it was hurting ! I tried everything to help her and my mom flushed it good and still not better so mom said you better take her in! Thankfully her doctor was on call and already there when we got in so it didn't take long! There are no scratches on the eye that she can see but was able to find the culprit and remove it! Oh my poor Julia she cried and I can't bear that, never have been able to, I teared up holding her hand! They do put some numbing drops in first but those STING and then they make the eye glow for the black light with some yellow drops! It was a neat medical thing to see but oh Julia mommy is glad you are OK now!! She should feel better in the next day or so!

So another busy Friday gone....Have a great weekend!!

Tackle Football!!

I was hoping my 200th post would be about something happy but Tackle Football is all I have to discuss today! As many of you know this has been an ongoing ordeal for the boys at school! Well now it has claimed the life of Jackson's glasses!! I know it's not gonna cost millions to fix but geez and he's only had them for 3 weeks!!! UGGH!! The other part that makes me angry is he lied initially as to how they got broke so I wouldn't be mad! I don't want him to feel that way either. He said they were playing tag and then later told me it was in fact "tackle"! So now I really don't like the game at all!!

Anyone Home??

I was just reading blogs and noticed that I hadn't posted in a week, either nothings going on or we are just boring! I think it's both to be honest! But when I stop to think about nothing going on it's not completely true as there is always something going on just not out of the ordinary!

The kids are adjusting to school an Sunday school just fine! They are all very happy with there teachers and classmates as well. Janaya is loving preschool I love how she looks worried about me when she leaves, she always just watches me as she gets on the bus and gets buckled in with such concern then she blows me a kiss and I walk to the house! She still says when she comes home "see I come back" I just love it she is so darn cute!

Not much going on this week just getting through our bowling days right now! We will have a b-day get together for Jackson on Friday, the big 6 this year!! I need to set up a 2nd look at the house we looked at last week to have the basement better looked at! We are looking at one by the hospital next Friday so we still have options or can wait till January too! Have a good week!

September 11th, 1999

This is the day my first son was born! Jordon Micheal was born at 2:14Pm and weighed 7# 9 oz he was 20 inches long! Today he is almost as tall as mom and weighs 90pounds!! 8years old and turning into little man right before my eyes. Jordon has struggled and continues to overcome many obstacles which makes him so very special to me!! Tonight we will have a little party with family and I will take some pictures and share them later!!

This day is not shaping up the way I need it to either!! Jackson came home from school yesterday sick and stayed home again today! Janaya I thought was on the mend but today is worse then she was. She is running a temp and vomiting the poor girl, so needless to say she is not at school either. I also have 2 daycare kids home ill with the same stuff!! I am hoping this stuff clears out soon.

I got a call from Jeff the realtor yesterday and they are saying their house will be done around the 1st of January and would like to close on January 15th 2008! Well that is along time away and we are not sure we want to commit to anything that far off and then something else come open and we are stuck!! This is getting ridiculously long and really starting to wear on my patience! So we'll see what comes of it!

I would also like to take a moment to remember the victims and families of all those involved in 9/11! This was a horrible tragedy and will never be forgotten!!

My Nest is Empty...

Today has been so hard for me! Janaya my BABY started preschool. Now I know she is not off t college but wow time has gone by! It means there is n turning back she is gonna keep getting older and will one day join the rest of the kids in there school journey's! I kept my tears back till she left as she watched me I knew if I cried she would get scared!

She had such a good day and was so excited when she got home!! She gave me the biggest hug and said "see mom I came back" oh thank god!!! She is ready to go back tomorrow...oh what am I gonna do?? I was gonna post a picture of her but thought I would put a slideshow together so I'll get to work on that!!

Happy Birthday to Amanda today also!!

Busy...Busy

What a busy weekend we have had here this weekend. Saturday was bowling sign up for the kids and Janaya had Sunday school orientation! Sunday was also the 1st day of Sunday school and all the kids are involved for the 1st time!

Saturday Janaya started complaining of pain in her lower back had a low grade temp, by that evening she was layed out on the floor bawling and grunting that it hurt so bad. I had noticed her going to the bathroom frequently and so we went to the ER last night to find out she has a UTI! Now today she is spiking temps into the 103's! Hopefully the antibiotic kicks in shortly. The bad deal is she is supposed to start school tomorrow but that is not happening at this rate!

I also got the Fall/Halloween decor up on Saturday, that is always fun!! Good ole Lenny is back on the fence (scarcrow). Brit got Rosco bathed and brushed up real nice too. He is anothr issue here this last week. We noticed him to be itching, and hair falling out, not eating and he was scratching his skin open. A trip to the vet says its a bacterial skin infection (common in Shar-pei's) and a bunch of meds. We have to be really consistent on his grooming to avoid stuff like this happening alot! He is such a good loving dog I would hate if anything happened to him!

Jordon has a birthday this week, he will be 8 on Sept 11 (Tues). Kari is bringing over a "special" cake and we will celebrate on Tues evening!!

Have a good week!!

Let The Activities Begin..

As Fall approaches the activities of another season begin! This week has been that way for the Boedecker's . Britton started his bowling season Tuesday evening, he will be bowling on Tuesday and Thursday for about 6 weeks then just Thursday's. I started my bowling season last night and am glad to be back or just glad to have my night with the girls and a break! I did pretty well considering I haven't touched my ball since April!! I hope to bring my average up this year so let's hope that goes well! Julia started her Fall gymnastics session last night as well, I believe that will go into December! She was really glad to be in the class again and said there are lots more this time and even a few boys so that is neat!! During the summer session there were only like 5 girls and 1 teacher now they need 5 teachers so the class must be much bigger!!

Bowling sign up for the kids is Saturday and all 3 of the big kids are wanting to bowl so I am guessing it's gonna be a busy season again!! It's good for them to be involved with things and they can win scholarship money so I am all for that! Julia actually has an account with them already that has money in it and they hold it till like 2021 so it should be there when she needs it and hopefully she can continue to add to it!!

The kids are liking school and getting the routine down. Jackson is adjusting just fine and likes his teacher so that is good! Janaya starts preschool on Monday the 10 th and I am not ready for this!! She is excited and ready to go, it's my baby and as the day gets closer I am feeling the emotional break down ready to hit!! I know she isn't leaving for college or anything but wow, she will be gone M-Th from about 12p-4p: Lord Please be with us both!!!

I hope everyone is having a good week!!

Long Weekend or Extra Work...

I love long weekends they are usually fun and we get to spend lots of time with Brit and do family things! For some reason this week I have been in a cleaning mode and I am actually getting tired....it's good to have a clean home but I need to stop...that just sounds funny but true!

Last week Thursday I started just wiping things down and enjoying those Clorox Cleaning Wipes, I had never tried them before and tried them...love them! I did lots of laundry and the house looked good!! On Friday I went to Brookings Walmart and got groceries and etc! Oh and before I forget I stopped at Payless to get some shoes for Naya and they have that BOGO right now so I got 2 cute pairs for $24...good deal for me!!

Saturday we relaxed and grilled and that night took the kids to the races! They had a good time but it was getting late so we cut out a bit early! It was a good time for all of us, we were with Jill and Andy and Lydia so the kids were extatic.

Sunday has been busy again, I decided I HAD to switch the kids clothes out for the season and that takes hours! I leave them out a few summer outfits as there are still gonna be those days and got rid of lots of it too! I then made sure all the winter clothing is in and everyone has what they need! Brit helped me and it still took us 3 hours...but now its done!! Brit also got the lawn mowed too!

I think tomorrow we will be taking the kids fishing! The boys have been asking since Thursday evening! I hope everyone else is having a good weekend!

Racism....

Ok this post is a hard one to get out what I really want to say while trying to remain calm and rational!! Tonight at the dinner table the kids were telling us about their experience on the bus after school. There was a boy who is about Julia's age picking on Jordon and Jackson and she had to step in, when she did the boy said " white is stronger then black" he then stuck out his tongue at her and she said " you look like an idiot when you do that". My kids then moved seats and nothing else happened! From the name they gave me and description of where he lives I know who he is and also know his mom! I also know that calling her would do absolutely no good at all!

I am so angry at this, my kids should not have to deal with that! I do realize that they are a minority but this is the 21st century or something like that will racism never end? There are alot of really nice kids out there too don't get me wrong!! These kids are at such a young age and they had to be taught these things! So at this point I don't know what to do, I can't go pick them up everyday and they have rights to be there and live their lives without fear of being harassed every time they get on the PUBLIC SCHOOL BUS!! I am hurting for my kids and am angry at myself for not being able to fix it. Julia is good about brushing it off she said "I got used to it last year mom", what...used to it...no way not right!! Jordon doesn't get it as to why they pick on him he just gets angry and wants to "beat them heads up" ! He doesn't resist temptation so easily but when those kids get hurt you bet they will point the finger at him, again not right!! Jackson has no idea what is going on other then he was right and there are bullies at school, again not right!!

Well I am gonna close on this, I hope somehow things change and that my children remain strong and stay proud of who they are, beautiful, loving children of God!!!

The Other Video...

Yesterday when I did my video's You Tube wouldn't let me upload both of them, but today it let me do the other so here it is...Grandma the girls know their ABC'S...lol!

Singing!

Weekend Alone!!

Oh my what an amazing weekend!! This weekend the kids stayed with Uncle Kenny in Parkston so mom and dad could celebrate their anniversary and do some much needed relaxing!! I can honestly say that relaxing is just what I needed and also feel closer then ever to my hubby!!

Friday the kids headed off at 6pm and we headed to Flandreau where we had a suite for the night!! We ate supper and hung out with my Dad and Les for a few hours, didn't win a dime...lol!! After that we took a nice evening walk and then enjoyed some whirlpool therapy!! It was a very nice romantic night!!

Saturday we did some yard work and walked the dog in the day! That evening we went to the lake to visit Mom and Wayne & Steph and Cody. We grilled steaks and visited around the campfire, lots of fun!

Sunday morning we went back to the lake in the am to do some fishing from the boat, well it was actually catch and release practice but fun none the less!! We came home and did some inside housework and then relaxed till we had to head back to Sioux Falls to get the kids, we stopped at BK first to bring the kids a snack!! We were all glad to see each other and be home too!

I worried about them and missed them alot but sure did appreciate the break!! I called Friday night and Saturday am to check on them and Kenny said " Barbara how can you be relaxing if you are constantly calling to check on them?" I agreed and said I would not call again, but that if they wanted me or he needed ANYTHING to call me, that was a long 24hrs...hehehe!! I hope everyone else enjoyed their weekends too!!

Back To School!!

The kids went off to school Friday am with out any hesitation! Jackson was so excited and not worried at all! He had a good day and said "it's really fun....Iam good at Kindergarten"! Such a cutie! I took a picture of the 3 of them all spiffed up before school so I will share that!! Hope all the other kid's had a good day too!!

Julia, Jordon and Jackson 1st day of school, August 24th, 2007!

Janaya Funny..

I just thought I'd share a conversation I just had with Janaya, if you don't know she is my 3 year old!
I was sitting on my bed visiting with Britton when she came in, I noticed she had on a different shirt :

Me: Where is the other shirt you had on?

Janaya: I lost my new shirt, it's in the toy box ( she then started to giggle)

Me: Go get the other shirt and put it in the laundry please!

Janaya: Oh I can't find it mom...it's lost...I just can't...

Me: You just told me it's in the toy box, I bet if you go look you will find it...just look in the toy box.

Janaya: Ok! Fine MOM!!

This was just really funny to me and shows she has quite the imagination! Now did she go get the shirt and put it in the laundry room, I don't know yet I haven't checked....Have a good one!!

School Visits!

I took the kids up to the school today to meet their teachers and put their supplies away! It was a really good time and we were in and out in an hour! Jackson wasn't nervous till we walked into his room then he grabbed my hand!! Once they said "Hi" to him he was ok! By the time he left he seemed at home! Unfortunately his teacher is ill right now so he will have to wait to meet her, hopefully she is feeling well soon!!

Julia was very excited to meet her teacher and is ready to get back to school!! Jordon was a bit shy but seemed to like Mrs. Fjerstad as well! He enjoyed unpacking his things and wasn't sure why we had to leave and not stay!! LOL.

Hopefully when I leave them tomorrow its a good day and I don't shed too many tears!! I am sure as the weeks go by I will enjoy not having so many kids here all day, it would be nice if I could be with them all the time but I am told I can't !! Hope all you other Kindergarten mom's have a good day tomorrow and pull through!!

Teachers!

I went up and checked the list tonight and am pleased with the teachers my children will have!
Julia will be in 4th grade and will have Mrs. Eich, she was very excited about this so that made me feel good!
Jordon will be in 2nd grade and he got Mrs. Fjierstad, Julia said she is very nice so again pleased.
Jackson will be in Kindergarten and will havae Mrs. Osterberg, Julia again said oh she is good. I also read Tracy's blog earlier and from her review I am satisfied too! Jackson is getting a bit nervous as it approaches and has lots of questions, hopefully it will be easier for him than he is anticipating, poor guy!! He asked me today if he can just stay here and help me, lol, too cute!!
Hope all your kids have a great year at school!!

I think I am in training...

Oh my this has been quite a busy week, and it's not over yet! As far as my depression I am feeling better, I think it was just another spurt and is on the way out the door!! YAY! First of all this week my other nephew and niece are back in my daycare so it's been run here and run there with little ones everywhere! That would be where the "training" came into play, I should be ready for a marathon soon if they don't slow down..hehehe!! It's better then being slow I will say that! Baby Cooper is not adjusting well to "sharing" Auntie but then again I am sure he will come around soon! I do love being with my niece and nephews as much as I am and am truly blessed to be so close to them and a part of raising them like I am!!

I did get a call from a lady who has 3 children one in Kindergarten and one in preschool that wouldn't be here too much but she also has a 5 month old which would make things a bit more tough but will see, its not final yet so there is time to get things worked out!! I also think that when school starts it will be better as the big kids will be gone!

My mother in law and sister in law were her Monday and Tuesday so the kids have been wound up and of coarse ecstatic to see her!! It was a short visit but nice!! She always knows how to make them feel special and yes spoils them with love, hugs, kisses and toys!! Hopefully they wont' have to wait to many months between her next visit!! Brit didn't get to see her too much with work but enjoyed his time too!

Jackson I think has a bit of the flu today. He has been laying around and nauseous as well. I am trying to keep him away from the others as it always seems if one gets it the others follow!! Hopefully it will be short lived!!

Well I think that is all that is going on right now. Have a good week!!
