Check out my Slide Show!

March 24th, 2004

I wanted to get this posted yesterday but WOW what a busy day!! My precious baby turned 4 yesterday!! She has grown up so much and it just seems faster than my other children, probably because it's the last "baby"! I can't believe she is 4 yrs old, before I know it she'll be starting Kindergarten! We had a family party last night with a Barbie Mariposa cake and Saturday she will have a party with a few little friends at the bowling alley, that theme is Disney Princess!! Somewhere along the line this last year she forgot about Dora when she discovered Princess world awaiting!! It should be an exciting time. I will post some pics from last night and the video of her opening her Barbie Mariposa, she has been asking for it for a month now and I had to use every ounce of might I had to keep it hidden!! Very happy girl now!! Happy B-day Weenie, mommy loves you!!!

He's Running Free Now...

This post is a sad one that I have tried to start a few times today! Did you see the beautiful Rainbow last night?! If you didn't it was the biggest brightest rainbow I've ever seen!! And to me it was a sign that Rosco was at peace and running free up above now!!

On Monday afternoon Rosco got out AGAIN...if you don't know Rosco loves to run...run...run and has since the day we brought him home! He always comes right back or in when he's done and never hurts anyone. The most he's ever stayed out was over night and wants in right away. Well this time didn't go that way at all. First of all he refused to come in and despite numerous attempts absolutely no one could catch him! The Police were called on Tuesday am and I was given a ticket and instructed to get it dismissed I'd have to get rid of him! We did everything we could and had many different people attempting to catch him as well. On Wednesday am the cop was back and lot manager and animal control and this time there had been numerous reports that he is trying to bite people and attack other animals as well. He also tried to bite my sister and dad. Now I am being told and realized he had to be put down. Why is he biting and attacking...especially people he knows!! For sometime now I have wondered if he wasn't really sick, he's been spiking high temps and seems to be on his death bed then the next day normal??!! I have had him to the vet a few times and been told he was OK! So I don't know what was really wrong....and now never will. Yesterday Brit came home from work and we tracked and finally outsmarted him and caught him. We loved him and spoiled him as much as we possibly could and at 4 pm he was put down...or as I like to think set free to run and be free as he seemed to truly be happy roaming! So when I saw the rainbow last night I instantly got a feeling of relief knowing he was at peace...

Fever's

One of the things with children and illness that scares me is FEVER'S and especially really high one's!! As of now I have two sick babies, Julia and Jackson. Julia is low grade now and she might try to go to school tomorrow, she has been home since Thursday!! Jackson is not so lucky, I took his temp about 30 minutes ago and it's 104!! It freaks me out, I gave him medicine but at what point do I take him to the hospital??? I feel like I should know the answers from years of parenting and past work experience but when I ask myself it's blank, and I call MOM!! I hope and pray this all goes away soon!! THINK SPRING!!!!!

Poor Baby...

I know there are plenty of you out there feeling the same pain and wishing the same thing...NO MORE SICKNESS!!! Julia has been feeling fine not even a sniffle right, she went to Gymnastics last night and came home and went to bed. This morning when I awoke she was laying behind me and looked HORRIBLE! I immediately took her temp after hearing her deep cough and it was 102.5. I called the clinic and made an appointment. They asked if I wanted the Influenza test and I said yes even though she said she was sure she had it and had all the classic symptoms. OK here is the good part she tested NEGATIVE!! Well the bad part is she won't treat her since it said that, we should have just treated it and not tested. She said she was so shocked and has had alot of this lately as it seems to be a new strand or one not picked up by the tests, GREAT! If she gets worse, can't breathe or not better in a week come back, omg seriously why do they have to say that every time!! Hopefully it gets better and not worse.

Tomorrow Jordon has an appointment with Dr.Ermer the Psychiatrist. This medicine has a few drawbacks but all in all seems to be working ok so I am sure he will continue with it. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Weekend Flyby....

Wow what a busy weekend...it just flew by! Friday night Britton and I went to Sioux Falls for our bi-weekly shopping trip and had been talking about trying Sam's Club to try to stretch the groceries in hopes of saving money on the ever mounting "expense"! WOW! I was really impressed on the deals we found. There are a few things that I will continue to buy not in bulk but I think this is really going to help in the long run!

Julia bowled in the Pepsi Tournament again this year in Sioux Falls on Sunday. This year Brit and I took her and it was so much fun. She did really well and we were so proud of her! After she bowled she got to pick where we ate and we ended up at Fry'n Pan and that was really nice too!

This past week my Dad ended up in the Hospital. He has been having trouble with Diverticulitis which might end up in surgery yet. He was released this morning and hopefully things continue to get better!!

Lately my little princess's are focusing on their "wardrobes" with great enthusiasm...HA! Janaya is forever discovering new fashions and when she see's something she has to have it! Julia is really voicing her particular like of certain looks. They both are "pretty" girls and like stuff I have never worn because I didn't like the way it fit and just wasn't provided with them! Now with 4 kids to buy clothes for these girls are killing me.HA!
Luckily for them their Auntie "C" has a passion for spoiling them and shops in all the right places, so they have been getting new outfits left and right. I will have to get some pictures of them they are so darn cute!! We also need to see a BIG THANK YOU to her for such beautiful gifts!!

How we are doing?!

Wow this last week has brought much sickness for all, my family and daycare families as well. Good news is I think everyone has had it and it should be out the door. Jordon came home from school last week and I think he got hit the worst poor guy!
The kids enjoyed another busy weekend. Jackson had a b-day party on Saturday and the others had league bowling. On Sunday we hung out with Auntie Courtney and did some work around the house. Not much else going on I took some video of the boys I will post, you see they are both into "hip hop" lately and although I don't think they fully understand what it is or means they are truely "hip"! Ha!

Julia's Day in Pierre

Monday, February 18, 2008

What's up?

I feel like there are lots of things I should have been posting about but haven't for some reason or antoher...oh ya it's called being a BUSY MOM!! HA!

Let's start with Conferences...that were on Feb 11th. Julia is doing absolutely wonderful in school. Her teacher had again such wonderful things to say about her that I was brought to tears again! She said not only is she incredibly smart but very mature and handles herself and "leadership" roles beyond her years! She said she has been told by anyone who meets her how blown away they are!! Way to be Julia!! She is looking forward to her trip to Pierre this week on Thursday and can't wait to meet some pretty important people!!

Jordon's conference went alot better. Both teacher's had posative things to say and we saw some work Jordon has done. It has been a really hard year for him with behaviors and medication swithcing that seems constant. We have some good plans in order so I am optomistic at this point!

Jackson is doing amazing also. He is working on things beyond the Kindergarten level and shows no signs of slowing down. He loves school and learning which is great. He has grown so much since the beginning of the year and it's nice to see!

Onto the pipes, we got things going that same day. Brit with the help of a GREAT plumber got somethings figured out. We did however learn that the Joker who worked under there last year for "tons" of money didn't fix everything and basically rigged up his own idea of something! Needless to say it is supposed to be fixed and so far so good! You know they say it isn't supposed to happen again but seeings how I have heard that a time or two now it's really hard to just believe but we'll see!

Valentines turned out way better then I had anticipated. A good friend Kari drove over from Howard so I could join my hubby for awhile at bowling. So it was cool to be able to see his surprised face when he found the ring! He was totally caught off gaurd and loved it. After awhile he said " you know I feel like a women who just got engaged showing off my ring" HA! It was a good time and lots of fun!

Thought I'd share a few pics I have taken lately of the kids!

Janaya has a new found love...Barbie's

She has quite the collection...

A Bratz doll...in a new dress...

This is a pic of Jackson's Lion project for school....

Well this is not a kid but...last week when I was doing breakfast I
happened to notice this guy outside the window....by the electric
box...cute little guy!!

Happy Valentines Day!!!

If you can't tell this is one of my most favorite Holidays! I love to love and love to be loved!! I hope each and everyone who reads this has a wonderful day and feels special in some way!

Now I gotta tell a story about today, I think this could be the best V-day ever...well up till now...HA! I was thinking about how to surprise my honey as we kindof agreed not to do much this year, and there was a knock at the door! Would you believe it was the flower lady??!! I got a
dozen red roses with glitter on them and a I Love You balloon! Now the card was in his writing so I am guessing he had to have done it Monday when he was at the "hardware" store getting stuff for the pipes! Cute...Cute I must say!
So being me I went down and got a card and stopped to look at some rings I saw, make a long story short his wedding ring has gotten damaged and we have been talking about replacing it! Well I found one that was so beautiful and the price was GREAT!!!! Did I buy it....ummm
yes I did! OK onto the surprise, I will give him the card here but he has bowling tonight so I have talked with my Dad and since it's wrapped I hid it in his bowling shoe, now tonight when he goes to put on his shoe he will find a BIG surprise from Momma!! Oh I love romance, isn't it great?!
Have a Great Day!!

This is a picture of what we are doing here today at the Boedecker household!! If you can tell from the picture....it's Frozen Pipes AGAIN!! We are working on thawing and waiting for a Plumber to fix some issues! As of now it's not looking good or CHEAP!! UGH!! And they said 6 more weeks of this didn't they??!!

Weekly Recap..

Another week gone by which hopefully will make the 6 more we have to wait for Spring go by quickly...HA! This has been a tough week for me. Monday morning started normal but I felt a bit nautious and dizzy, by afternoon I knew I was heading for a Migraine so I took some medicine that would keep me "functionable" and by night was laid out completely! I took some stronger medicine before going to bed thinking it would all be ok the next day! Tuesday I woke feeling "hung over" like I usually do after a headache but thought ok on we go. Jordon was scheduled to see Dr. Blake in Sioux Falls that afternoon . By noon I was feeling it and had to call Britton home from work to drive us there because it was not an option for me.
We had our appointment with the doctor which was frustrating this time, they are not putting enough emphasis on problem areas or should I say not doing anything at all! I didn't get answers that I needed so I will just have to figure some plans out on my own, I think I will do some research on the problem behaviors and see if I can't come up with a behavior plan of my own!
Ok Tuesday evening when we got home I hit the couch ordered the lights be out and closed my eyes. When I woke up the kids were ready for bed so I tucked them in and took the rest of the medicine I had here and called to close my daycare for Wednesday, I have never done that so it was hard but I knew I was unable to give care for the children. Wednesday I woke up sick to my stomach, headache, dizzy you name it. I called the clinic and got an appointment for my self and Janaya (ear infection). While there she gave me a pill and a shot of Tordol, called in some more medicine and home I went. We slept till it was time to get the kids and I seemed to feel better. By 6p I was sick again and in bed. I took a pill then and then called the ER to see what else I could do, they said at 8:30p I could take another. So I took the strongest one I had here and off to bed I was at 9pm. Thursday Brit stayed home because I hadn't closed daycare as I thought I was gonna be better and needed his tender loving care!! By now it had settled in my neck and back but by late afternoon I was feeling like it was going to be ok! Friday is a new day, I feel some side affects but more my old self I did daycare and haven't had to take any medicine all day! I just think about how much "crap" I took all week and pray for my liver!!
It has been along time since I have had a Migraine like this, I actually think not since I was pregnant with Janaya!! It has been months since I have had one I think at all. My Doctor thinks it was probably brought on by the Stomach Flu as I seemed to have had symptoms of that. Gotta love the Winter Bugs! I'm praying for a new healthy week and looking up!

Next week brings Parent Teacher Conferences which I am looking forward to. The kids seem to be doing well in school and all like it! Hope everyone has a blessed weekend!!

This and That...

I will start by answering the questions I left you with. The melted figure that to me now looks like a cows face..HA...used to be a red car!!! The "eyes" were the wheels and so forth. One of the little kids put it under the oven and now we have this...imagine the smell!!

Onto my doctor appointment..UGH.. well it was confirmed that there is something indeed wrong with my wrist and I should have gone in much earlier. He did a repeat x-ray and found that the small arm bone the Ulna that is attached to the tendons and muscles is pulled away and everything is then being stretched is the best way to put it!! I have been causeing more damage by trying to use it and bowling with it,and that explains the continued pain!! So Iam back in a brace splint to keep the wrist from moving at all and I am not to lift anything at all if possible with it!! In 3 weeks I go back for another x-ray and hopefully it shows some signs of healing or I get a cast!!! If it starts to heal this way it will be 6-8 weeks, and if not then we cast and go from there!!! WOW I didn't expect that much was wrong but now I know and can fix it and stop doing more harm! The thing that makes me mad is the Radiologist and Doctor from the first day should have seen that, I got to see both x-rays and it was there then just not as prominent! It is so hard to run my house and do daycare with one arm, and bowling is done probably for the year, that really bothers me and now I probably won't be going to Nationals. My arm is more important though so I will concentrate on healing that!!

Next have you seen these yep I'm sure you have or at least heard of them?!! Well Brit has wanted one for some time now and on January 20,2008 I bought him one! I am not one to buy gaming systems at that cost because I just don't understand how it is worth $400, maybe it's a women thing! But to make him happy and show my appreciation I obliged. Well on the night of the 21st we watched a movie in it and when it got done it wouldn't eject the disc! So he followed all the directions from the manual to get it out and still NO! Tuesday night he called Customer Service and they were surprised and said "oh that sucks" um yep sure does. But since it comes with warranty it is going to be replaced!!! Thank goodness for the good old warranty!!

Two Questions????

I got two questions....What was this, at one time?? What does it look like now????

Not Much Going On....

I don't have much news to report here on the Boedecker homefront. We enjoyed some nice waeather this weekend and got the van cleaned out, it is crazy how much gets tracked in there! The kids did bowling as usual, Jordon got a new bowling ball of his own and was extatic to use it for the first time. I was just gonna take a pic to post of it but he has it hidden somewhere so I'll have to locate it first, you wouldn't think he could hide a bowling ball that well but it is Jordon!

Not much planned for the early part of the week, I am going to the doctor tomorrow for a sinus infection that has overstayed its welcome and it is time to have the wrist rechecked as it is still not healed and quite troublesome!

And since there isn't much to do I do think I will go
join these guys...aren't they cute!!!!

It is a pretty dark picture but the top cat is Doboy (Julia's cat of 6 1/2 years and the dark one is mine and he is 8months old, Whiskars)

The "New Kerrie"

Janaya got her hair cut for the first time in a Salon on Friday afternoon by "new Kerrie"! She is called that because Janaya is under the impression that there is only "one" person with a name, for instance there are no other "barbs" or "jills" etc... so when she met Kerrie it was confusing because she already knows a Kari thus giving us "new Kerrie" HA! HA! She loves her new hair and "new Kerrie" too, did you know she has toys in the back, well she does and Janaya will never forget her trip to the Salon. I believe we'll be going before we know it! I was running late so I forgot to take the camera with me but got a shot of the after, if you want to see a before the pic on the blog of her is a good one!

Mommy also got her hair cut and loves it! I think next time I will do some more coloring hopefully before I go to Detroit for bowling in May. We don't have many plans this weekend due to the cold weather! Have a good weekend...stay warm!

Transistion...and More...

I can't believe I haven't posted on my blog in a week. I feel like I have kind of forgotten about it in my "life transition" that I am going through. I have been going through many changes lately or as my dad said "getting wiser"! So much has been going on as far as relationships with friends and some family some being good and some bad, but in healing in each ones way!

We have been working hard on being better people and parents, and getting more involved in our church. The kids are really enjoying Sunday school and learning alot every week. I am getting in the groove of teaching and we got a good schedule down now. We have been attending church every week and not just going to Sunday school which was important to us for the kids!!

I have been evaluating myself as a person, mother and friend alot lately and excluding the negatives in my life which has made me feel so much better and I feel so much more energized now. Today is day 29 of no smoking, tomorrow is my month mark!!! YAY!! I feel like it has been so much longer and I am noticing things all the time that are getting better! Brit is going just as strong and feels just as great!! I thank everyone friends and family for the support and positive feedback as we have taken this step of control!!

We celebrated my niece Natylie's 3rd b-day on Friday and I got to use the video camera now that the memory card got here. I am so glad I got this and look forward to many more memory capturing moments!! Julia and Jordon started bowling again for the 2nd half of the year on Saturday, Jackson got to spend the day with Grandma and Papa ice fishing!!

Yesterday I had my surgery under my arm for that cyst. I ended up with a 3 inch incision and 7 stitches. It was bigger then i had anticipated but it is gone now and hopefully won't come back. Brit stayed home again today to help with daycare and take care of me, I am so blessed to have such a wonderful helpful man!! Thank you Brit!!!

Well that is all I can think of right now I will try to keep up better now that things seem to be on track for me! Oh Friday afternoon Janaya and I are getting haircuts by Kerrie, super excited girls we are!! Have a good rest of the week!!

Thanks for the information Tracy, I tried to watch one after I read your comment and the same thing happend. I went back to You Tube and switched from Private to Public then it let me watch them here. So it was just working....if it does it again let me know!! I might just have to go sledding again and make some more...HA! Happy Monday!

Sunday, January 06, 2008

I got a Digital Video Camera for x-mas so I tried it for the first time sleding this weekend! I only got short video's it is work in progress!! We also had a few collisions this time one Janaya and a tree...OOPS, then Janaya took Jackson out which you see in one of the videos! They still had a great time...HA!
