Oh What Fun It Is To Ride....

...in a one horse open sleigh....well we didn't quite have it that good but it was fun. Saturday was deemed a Boedecker Family day and we started by going sledding by the Playhouse. You know I have lived here for many years and never gone up there but the kids have been asking so I thought sure why not! Oh my gosh what a fun time, for EVERYONE!! I have never heard such laughter and holy wow do they get going FAST!! I was so nervous to let Janaya go but she laughed and giggled the whole way, you just had to be at the end to stop her or she would go on forever....HA! I even managed to go down once! Oh to be a kid again! I don't know how many times Brit had to walk back up that hill I do know it is a "big" hill! I think we will have to do it again very soon! And then I will have to remember the CAMERA!!! That night we took them to Alvin and The Chipmunks....OMG CUTE!!! They laughed and laughed it was so great. Janaya wanted to go the "store" when we left the theater to buy it and was so upset that we just couldn't do that! I wish it didn't take so long for the movies to come out on DVD!

Sunday was a relaxing day and the kids enjoyed more time outside! They are getting a bit anxious for break to be over now and it will be sooner then they know.
I hope everyone has a great New Year's Eve I am looking forward to ringing it in with my hubby oh and as a Non-Smoker...HA! Still going strong and feeling great about it!! See you next year....

10 Days!!

First off I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!!
I have been so busy I have completely forgotten my blog. We had a great Christmas here at the Boedecker's. We enjoyed Christmas Eve with my mom and step dad and all the aunties, uncles and cousins. We went to church then for supper at Grandma's and finally the kids got to open presents, I honestly don't think they could wait any longer! HA!

Christmas Day we spent home as a family and it was so nice. The kids got everything they asked "Santa" for and much more, truly blessed I must say!

Now to my title of this post....drum roll please....today is the 10th day of "NO SMOKING"!! I (we Brit too) have had no cigarettes what so ever for 10 days! I am feeling pretty strong about it now and think I am gonna make it this time! Cold Turkey is the hardest thing to overcome but if the will is there nothing can stop me and I got it this time. I must say I am PROUD of the both of us and I am gonna keep saying it!!!! I am not craving much at all anymore, I smell GREAT and don't taste like an ashtray!!!

Last night I returned bowling and it went pretty well, little sore today. It was nice to be out with the girls again. It was hard to sit with them as everyone of them smoke!! I did really well and actually didn't "want" one, the smell made me sick. Anyway it will be nice to be back bowling as I do enjoy it!

Jordon had an appointment yesterday with Dr. Ermer a child psychiatrist in Sioux Falls. It went pretty good and he has some good plans on how to try to help Jordon. He did start him on a new medicine to go with his Concerta so I am a bit nervous but trying to stay optimistic! The new one is called Geodon and is supposed to help with controlling OCD symptoms. We will see him again in 2 months unless he starts having problems before then or the med causes problems. We also see Dr.Blake in February.

Anyone got big plans for New Year's? As of now we are planning to spend some time with the kids and then go out to the bowling alley to see some friends and family. Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday and great starts to the new year!!

Good News...Good Weekend...

I got a call from Dr. Blake on Friday late afternoon and they changed their minds about admitting him right now. He said if we can avoid it around the holiday we should do our best. So we are keeping a close eye on him and giving it our all. He will see Dr. Ermer a child psychiatrist the day after Christmas and start working with him as well. We started his new Concerta dose on Friday and so far so good!

This weekend we went to Fargo for Brit's cousins wedding. It was the first time the kids and I met that side of his family and after 4yrs it was well overdue! He has a great family and it was so much fun for all! The kids got to spend some much needed time with G-ma Davis and they soaked up all they could!!!

We had to rush home Sunday for the kids x-mas program at church. They did such a good job and looked amazing. We got them all new outfits and they looked like princes and princesses!! Don't worry I got pictures!! HA!
The kids ready for the x-mas program!
Just before the
wedding at the
hotel!

Roller Coaster Ride???

I'm back...sort of!! Wow what a week this has been for me, so many emotional up and downs, mostly downs!! Last week my best friend of 12 years said the most hurtful words I have ever heard, or would even say to my worst enemy! It has been building for quite some time and I finally stood up to her and told her things I know she didn't want to hear! She really needed to hear them and if nobody was going to do it who better then your BFF right? I was truthful and standing up for myself as well as her daughter. Well in retaliation she called me and said things about my "disabled" son that I WILL NOT repeat!! After I hung up on her I slammed my fist into the cupboard 3 times and balled uncontrollably. When it was all said and done with I was sure my arm was broke, and to the doctor I went! Luckily for me it's not broke but bruised really bad. One of the xrays was really questionable but they still said not broke! So last week I was wrapped and in a sling all week with little to NO use, talk about painful and impossible! This week I am down to a wrist splint but much more use, and tolerable pain! I am getting more and more use every day. I was so upset at myself for doing that but when I repeat to myself what was said I can't help but think any mother would do the same! As for the friendship its done forever, it honestly should have been that way many years ago. Too many lies, manipulations and wrong doings have gone on and I deserve better then that and won't stand for it anymore. I know in my heart have much better friends out there! The sad part is I don't even miss her, I actually feel a huge burden is lifted!
I haven't been able to lift much more then "a pair of pants" with it yet so I haven't bowled the last 2 weeks either, talk about crazy.

Now onto my latest heartbreak, Jordon! Most of you know Jordon's disabilities and also that he has had many behavior issues all his life. Well we are having much troubles lately and he has actually become a danger to himself and others at times. After visiting with his doctor it has been decided he needs Inpatient Treatment and evaluations. He would like to admit Jordon to the Avera Adolescent Behavior Unit in Sioux Falls for an indefinite amount of time, and then possibly to the Children's Home Society after an Acute stay at Avera! Right now he is thinking Monday for an admission date but I will know for sure on Friday. As sad and heartbreaking as this is especially with Christmas being so close it is for the best and will make a huge difference in his life too! If Monday is the day then on Sunday after their church Christmas program we will have a mini holiday for Jordon and let him open his gifts! This is one of the hardest things I have had to do with Jordon, he has gone thorough this 3 other times but not for more than a month! Please pray for Jordon and his healing!! I will keep you posted on him as I know more!

Not much else has been going on here. We are going to Fargo on Saturday as Brit's cousin is getting married! There is lots of his family I haven't met yet and will get to this weekend so that should be fun! The kids will get to swim and enjoy Grandma Davis also. Oh did I mention water slides?? YES!! Well I am feeling like I am over doing it will post tomorrow when I get some news!

Lesson Learned....

The lesson learned is never get so angry you lose control and hurt yourself!! At this point I really can't sit and tell the whole story but do intended to when I am able! It appears I might have broken my arm so this is hard as it is!! I am "lefty" only right now and also lost a longtime friend! I will be taking a short break till I am able to do this with out pain or get it figured out! I hate to keep you wondering and hope all are well! See ya soon!!!

Not much is planned for tonight as he has bowling. When we went out on Friday we knew it was for both of us! I am hoping when Courtney gets here tonight its not too late and she can sit with the kids so I can at least go spend some time with him at the bowling alley. Happy Birthday honey I love you!!!

They Are Home...

What a great weekend we had! The kids got home Sunday night, well we picked them up at 6p in Sioux Falls! I don't know how soon Kenny will do that as Jordon gave them quite a run and left stuff broken! All in all they had a great time and missed mommy alot!! Lots of hugs and kisses!! When we got home we put up the Christmas tree and other holiday decorations around the house! I took a picture but don't have it on here yet....I know I am slacking!!

Over the weekend Brit and I got lots accomplished here at home. We got the boys room painted except for one wall which will be easy to get finished. I will have to take a picture now that I got it all put back together! We got lots of cleaning done and spent much needed quality time together as well.
Friday morning I spent alone...no daycare kids as well!! Kari popped over for about an hour to bring me our cake....AWESOME!! Friday afternoon we went to SF and ate at the Olive Garden and then went over to Penny's and each got something for our b-days! I am now 28 and he will be 27 tomorrow!! We got home about 8p and then went and visited Jill and Andy for a bit.
Saturday we lounged ALOT and then went over to Flandreau for a few hours that night.
Sunday was cleaning, painting and putting stuff in the shed for winter! We were going constantly from 10a till we finally got ready to go for the day at 4P!!! It was a good time but I was so anxious to see my babies! I didn't even talk to them on the phone this time so I was feeling the empty spot. I enjoy the alone time with Brit but I tell you if I didn't have the kids things would get mighty boring around here in a quick hurry!

Today is definitely Monday and everyone is in full force here!! I hope everyone had a great weekend as well!

Listen Do You Hear That?

That is the sound of peace and quiet, and no kids! Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! We had a wonderful day visiting and spending time with family first at my mom's then my dad's! I got to do plenty of cooking and cleaning up oh and eating! Tonight the kids left with Uncle Kenny and Aunt Jill for the weekend in Parkston! We will pick them up Sunday at 6p in Sioux Falls! I plan to get lots done this weekend and enjoy some quality time with my wonderful hubby!! YAY! Also tomorrow is my 28th birthday!! So a definite supper at Olive Garden is in line, after that I don't know maybe some shopping??!!

We had a pretty good week. Julia had a musical on Monday for Thanksgiving and it was great as always. She got to dance the Tango and did great!
I called Dr.Blake about Jordon's med also, things were heading for disaster! He is taking him of the Prozac, Thank God!! You would not believe the change I am seeing already, amazing, he brought home a good report from Mrs. Fjerstad and Mrs. Wilkens on Friday...YAY Jordon!! Things at home have been better too!
Janaya is sprouting a cold so she has been so stuffy and a bit crabby the last few days, hopefully it clears fast for her! Jackson has had a quiet week, he has been working on his letters, rhymes and math like crazy this week, he is so intrigued by learning new things it is so awesome to see!!

I hope everyone had a good and blessed holiday!!

Conferences!!

Thursday night we had parent teacher conferences and with 3 kids they always schedule them weird, this year it was 6p..6:15 and 6:30! For some reason it never works out that way and someone always has to wait for us to get down to them!!

I'll start with Julia! Mrs. Eich had the most amazing things to say about her! She said she is her best student and is the most beautiful caring little lady! She looks for Julia to win most of the barn trips if not all of them, WOW that is better then I thought she was doing and looking way into the future!! She brought me to tears more then once, I am so proud of the little lady she is becoming! Her grades are wonderful and according to a reading test they were given she is proficient at the 6th to 7th grade level and she's only in the 4th grade...AMAZING!!! Mrs. Eich told Julia she will go far in life and she is such a people person that she should be a doctor or someone who works with people, again I cried! I just couldn't be more proud!!

Jackson was next with Mrs. Osteberg. She had wonderful things to say about Jackson and how quickly he catches on to everything and actually needs to be challenged! She said "IT's like he is taking over his own education and running with it" ! WOW! She said at the beginning of the year he would play at play time now he sits and writes and tries to read and sound out words to spell! She said he is mastering what he has to know and much more, a very intelligent little boy! The only thing he needs to continue working on is more gentle play at recess, he tends to be rough but is getting much better! YAY Jackson!!

Now onto Jordon with Mrs. Fjerstad and Mrs. Wilken's. I am very frustrated with this conference and will try my best not to put my foot in my mouth! I am tempted to call and maybe set up a time to meet with them and discuss a few things but I am not exactly sure if the things I'd like to see change are possible, maybe I need to do some more research on my options! First of all in was very impersonal, I got the negative feeling right away that my son is an inconvenience and hasn't done any good since the beginning of the year! You see Jordon had a med change 3 weeks ago and since hasn't been the most pleasant or well behaved boy! And Jordon did cause some issues that will be quickly resolved but are you telling me he has done nothing posative?! Mrs. Fjerstad had a folder of papers and didn't pull out a single one!! She showed me his self evaluation and the handwriting guidelines and that is it! The conversation then went to the last 3 weeks and nothing else was discussed! Now I know from the papers he has brought home he is doing something right I just wish she had taken the time to share it with me. I honestly feel that the only way I will get anywhere is to work and talk only with Mrs. Wilkens! I am so hurt and frustrated I don't know what to do, I don't want to send him to Children's Care for school but sometimes Madison School District doesn't seem to be as concerned about this as I do!! I know there are some really great teachers and staff there but it's the ones that aren't that hinder children like my Jordon...

I hope everyone's little one's are doing well. Have a great weekend!!

Every Two Years.....

Today was my appointment with Dr. Sumerer about that cyst under my arm. OK first of all I KNOW I should have gone in about 6 months ago but I have such a time dealing with myself when I have too many other people to be taking care of! Well the outcome is it is not a quick office fix and I will again be going under the knife! UGH! The area is going to be too large for a local or for me to be awake...talk about scary!! So on Dec 11 I will be getting it done!
Now the title of this post, I will give you a quick history: in 1997 I had my gall bladder removed: in 2001 I had a c-section: 2003 I had a blockage removed from my sinus: in 2004 I had another c-section and in 2006 I had a hysterectomy! It's like every two years I have to have surgery, how do I break this chain of unfortunate events?! I know I need to take better care of me but this is just not right! On the other hand the surgeon knows me well enough and I trust him so that takes alot of worry out of the process!

Enough about that, this weekend we got the bathroom done!! Julia's room needs just a few area's touched up and it will be done too...YAY! I plan to get started on the hallway and the boys room this week!! The boys room is the worst so maybe that first then I can list the place for sale because it would be presentable then!! Guess I should get busy then.....

Before I go a quick Janaya funny or two: Naya had just woke up from a nap!

Jordon: Janaya today we...

Janaya: I don't care...

Jordon: Just listen at...

Janaya: I don't care...

Jordon: WILL YOU STOP THAT AND LISTEN TO ME:

Janaya: I said I DON'T CARE....

Jordon gives up and says "geez you are so rude"

Lesson learned, don't talk to her when she awakenins as she don't care!!

Later on when Brit and I were discussin painting "Julia's" room she stood here listening and looking rather puzzled. Finally after a few minute she said "mommy I know thats my room too" Oh goodness I didn't mean it to sound like she didn't have a room, YIKES! At least she knows! Have a good week!

Veteran's Day

I will start this post with a Thank You to all Veteran's of our country! I would especially like to Thank my brother, Kenny and to let you know how proud of you I am and how much we all love you! I am honored you are my brother and have the utmost respect for you! I also pray for the men and women still at war for our country, God Bless You ALL!!

Uncle Kenny and the kids when he was on leave.....Dec 2004!

This is the only pic I have of him in Uniform...

Now on to our busy Monday. Since Brit is home from work today and my mom was able to watch Brayden and Natalye we headed to Sioux Falls with Janaya. I was told of this place called Habitat Restore that sells material and supplies for the home at discount prices. I looked it up online and found it looked legit so we thought it would be worth checking out. I am so glad we did as we got 2 bedroom doors, a towel rack and toilet paper holder, paint for the boys room (dark grayish blue) and the hinges as well for less then $40!! WOW!! We then went to Walmart for some more white paint and wall patches and misc and spent less then $40 there too!! Talk about a visit from the "bargain" fairy!! HA! Anyway I was very pleased and can see a light in this tunnel again, with those kinds of prices and knowing we can get the rest of what we need there I think things will get done quicker then it looked. The bathroom is done for the most part and tonight I will finish painting Julia's room!! I will have to take pic's when I get closer her room being done!!

Belated Anniversary!

I realized today when reading baby Jack's birthday post that I had to have been blogging for at least a year because I remembered his birth announcement post! So I went back and found that I indeed started posting on November 1st 2006! So Happy Blogging Anniversary to me!! This last year has been so many things! I have met lots of neat people, rekindled old friendships, learned of some school mates happenings, and learned alot about myself as well! I look forward to many more posts and wonderful days of blogging with you all! Thank you for being a part of my life and for letting me be apart of yours!

Do not follow me I may not lead...Do not walk in front of me I may not follow...Walk beside me and be my friend... I saw this saying today and found it to be inspiring!!

She's A Beauty...

I have to give Kerrie a BIG thank you for a very wonderful job on my hair! I have never been so happy about my hair! It put a huge smile on Brit's face as well...YAY! The picture I am posting doesn't show it as well as I had hoped but it looks great!

Not much else has been going on here this week, I got some painting done but it is taking alot longer then I thought! This weekend Jackson has a b-day party to go to so he is super excited about that! I am hoping to get some much needed cleaning and painting done here as well! Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

This and That

We had a wonderful weekend here at the Boedecker's! Friday we went on our bi-weekly grocery trip to Walmart and got costumes for Halloween also! This year Julia will be Cleopatra...Jordon a ghost..Jackson black spider man and Janaya is going to be Ariel the Little Mermaid!
That is so funny because she had been telling me all week she was gonna be Tinkerbelle and I was so praying that they would have one left or we were gonna be in trouble. Well when we were looking we found it right away and she was so happy, then Julia showed her the Mermaid and she forgot about Tinkerbelle like that!!! What....how do they do that??!! Anyway it is gonna be totally cute so look for pics probably Thursday!!!

Saturday Jackson and Julia went to a Halloween party given by some friends and had a great time! They had a haunted house in their basement and when we picked up our kids we got to go through it, talk about cool! I actually got scared twice!! I have to give them 2 thumbs up for the effort and creativity they put into it!
When they got done with that we carved our pumpkins with the kids! I will have to make a slide show of the pics I took it was great fun! Jordon was not impressed with "diggin" out his pumpkin and I ended up doing it, he was NOT putting his hand in there!!! He has always kind of be a tactile defensive guy when it comes to some stuff, he had a great time though!

Sunday while the kids were in Sunday school Britt and I went to the hardware store and he got the rest of his materials for under the house work and I got some "hole" filler and finally Primer so I can get started with my part of the work!

Ok on to busy Monday...wow I am beat and the week just started. First of all I'll start with myself. I have had this cyst under my arm for awhile and have let it go mostly because Iam too busy with everyone else to worry about me until it really hurts! HA! Well today I went to the doctor and got it "opened" only to be told I need to go see the surgeon because it's too much for a regular office visit! I'm sure you didn't want to hear that but hey it's going on in my life! So I see Dr. Summerer here in town on Nov. 13th.
We were told about this place that buys mobile homes and called the place today. We are waiting to hear back but hoping this might be able to help us get out of this place quicker then it looks now! I talked to Jeff this morning and the plan is now to wait 2 weeks before we sign or let it go! PRAY for something good to happen in these next few weeks!!

Well I think that is it up till now, I made my appointment today to finally get my hair done again! November 9th come soon please! I am planning on cutting it again and coloring with highlights, the change is gonna be drastic but welcomed. I can't help but think that if I felt better about what I looked like I might feel better all around too! Will post after Halloween...everyone have a great time Wednesday!!

Thursday, October 25, 2007

OH BOY!

I got a call from Jeff today and the sellers of the house we have been waiting for since June want to know if we are ready to get stuff going and signed to close January 2nd 2008! Oh BOY comes in now!! We are not ready to list our home and can't sign saying yes unless we are prepared to make 2 house payments until this is sold!!??? I am kicking my arse right now for skipping such a major part although I didn't expect this to happen either! So now we need to make some serious decisions and get our arses in gear, probably OVERDRIVE!!

On another note Jackson got into a fight in front of the school yesterday! A friend of his was telling him he is not invited to a Halloween party and he was arguing that he was, next thing you know both boys were rolling on the ground and yelling profanities to each other!! Can you believe this, and there were no teachers or anyone around to stop it! I spoke with Jackson about his "competitive" attitude and fighting is not an option no matter what! He was made to apologize even though "I didn't start it" ! Now the profanity part I will not stand for, not here or at school so I went with what my mom used when we were young...Hot Sauce! OMG it killed me and I hated it but I am hoping he will not choose to say naughty words again no matter what!! It is so hard for him because he sees Jordon act this way and say words that are not good so he thinks he can!
Julia is different behavior wise then Jackson and Janaya, I often wonder if it's because they are younger and have grown up seeing Jordon's "behaviors' at a critical age! I just don't know how to break the cycle, Jordon is going to continue to do some of the things he does and I know that but to keep the younger kids from doing what big brother does is another story!

Well I am going to go ponder on my thoughts now, have a great weekend!!

Tiny Talk Tuesday

I will start with a few cute things the kids have said lately!

Jackson came home the other day telling me that he has been learning big words at his school and that he learned how to say "hospital" which he says " hostable" so cute! He is a very good clear talker but this word gets him every time!

Janaya was able to pick a prize out of the treasure box on Monday and she picked a headband! When she got home she was so excited to show me her "hairstlye"! Today she wanted to wear her hairstyle to school! She absolutely says it is not a headband but a hairstyle...lol!

Julia was telling me about a boy in her class that is so nice and talks to everyone but is a bit too quiet!! After the story she said "I don't know but I think he is too sensitive for me"! Umm OK! HA!

On to other news...we got a new water heater put in on Sunday night and it is such a relief! I couldn't believe the difference and I think our old one has been going bad for awhile! Oh well it's over and time to move on! I am not gonna let these obstacles get me down and will keep trucking at it!
I got a call from Jordon's doctor today they are gonna leave the Concerta dosage at the current level and start him on Prozac as well for the OCD symptoms! So it should be interesting to see what changes occur! Not much else to report right now, have a good week!
