As most of you know I have found Facebook to be quite addicting and a great way to keep in touch with everyone. I have not visited our blog for a few months as a result.
For those of you who still read this or think to check it and don't use FB here is what's been going on:

Julia: Julia had quite the eventful summer starting with her trip to Washington DC for the JrNYLC conference. She flew out on July 26th and returned on July 31st. It was a long week for MOM that's for sure...haha! She learned much about our government, history and what it takes to be a strong leader. She took some great pics and even got to see the white house!! She has now started Middle school and its still sur-real to me. She is liking it just fine and only complains of the building being cold...hehe!

Jordon: Jordon also has had quite the summer. He has had numerous doctor visits that have gone well. He is having some behavior issues that we are working on. On August 13th he was hit by a pick-up in the HS parking lot. He got his 1st Ambulance and Helicopter ride which he took with his Papa! He ended up with a skull fracture and spent a few days at the castle (Sanford Children's Hospital). He will be required to wear a helmet during activity for the next two months. At this time he is healing well and the only side affect we are noticing is his speech being off and increased stuttering. Thank you for all the well wishes from family and friends!! He started the 4th grade and is so far enjoying it.

Jackson: Jackson started the 2nd grade and loves it. He is growing up fast and loving sports!! His faves are Football & Basketball! He is my social butterfly as he always seems to know kids everywhere we go.

Janaya: Oh my baby how fast she is growing. She started Kindergarten this year and loves it. It was very hard for mom!! She is my wild child with all her ideas and independence each day brings a new finding.

I am finding ways to fill my empty days without children. I enjoyed a garden for the first time and had a great turnout! I learned how to make home made pickles and such as well. I am looking into returning to work as that was my plan for when Janaya went to school. I am applying at a daycare in Sioux falls. Why there??? We are looking into or should I say planning a move there. We are in the process of putting the trailer up for sale now. There is much more opportunity for us there, little work here and with Jordon's doctors there and all our shopping done there it just makes sense. We have also figured out it will save us money so another GOD reason! School is going well I have finished 3 classes now with a current GPA of 3.5; something I have NEVER done, so I have to say I am pretty PROUD of myself. I am currently working on my Associates in Medical Billing & Coding, which I will follow with my Bachelor in Health care Management.

Brit is working full time at T&R Electric yet, he is also doing school online full time when he's not at work. It's been a stress and great experience for us both. We continue to support and aide one another on this journey that will hopefully enrich our future. He is studying Computer Science with emphasis in Software Design. He was able to transfer some of his previous credits and has a good start.

I see my last post was right before I left for Reno...and that's the last you heard. Obviously I made it home and was glad to be back. I had a great time and loved flying...who would have ever guessed. I had fun bowling but didn't do real well as with most of the people I saw and bowled with. But all the fun and sights to see more than made up for that. We stayed at the Silver Legacy and it is beautiful!! It is a sister Hotel to Eldorado and Circus Circus. I walked all over and every time I saw something different. I will be going back only this time I'd like to go with Brit and it really is not as expensive as I had thought it would be. I didn't strike it rich but broke even in the end so that is alright by me!!
The ladies I went with are awesome and a ton of fun! They are all quite a bit older than me but we are so much alike it never once mattered! Thanks ladies for a GREAT time!
I found hats and shirts for the kids, I am planning on getting pictures of them in all there stuff so will have to wait on those. I got a shirt and a cute nightshirt that is so me!! I also was able to find Brit a nice shirt and hat!

The kids are doing well and anxiously waiting for summer to begin. They will be done with school on Thursday. Janaya is already done and is having a hard time understanding why she doesn't get to go to Kindergarten NOW!!?? Julia and Jackson got there new glasses in and look good. I am hoping this helps with Julia's more frequent headaches as well. Her eyes got a bit worse so she has a stronger prescription this time. Jacksons good eye got worse and his bad one got better...a toss up there!
Jordon is still struggling with some behaviors and aggression and that has brought on medication changes which always are hard to begin with. In some area's it helps and others it just gets worse. He has another appointment on the 22nd so we'll see what he decides to do. Dr. Ermer is his Psychiatric Ped from Sanford and has been so awesome. He really takes time and is thorough. I am praying for him to have a good Summer. He will be doing the extended school year as well so two days a week he will go to class for and hour just to keep from having too much regression.
I am working hard on Julia's fundraising, the deadline for payment is this week and I am feeling stressed out. I don't understand how something she earned and is so educational has to cost so much. She is so excited about going and learning everything the conference has to offer and about Washington! I would like to say Thank you to those who have been so generous and giving thus far!!!

This week looks to be busy being the last week and with all the field trips the kids have going on in school. Have a great week!

A Few Years In the Making....

Tomorrow is the BIG day...I have had this trip planned a few times...and now it's here...I'm going to .....

I am so overwhelmed by this trip. I am excited as ever...I am almost 30 and never done anything like this. I am hoping to have the time of my life. I am so worried about leaving my children and husband. My in-laws will be here sometime today for the rest of the week so Brit and the kids will be ok! I'm still ...ya know...

We will be bowling in the National Bowling Stadium...WOW!!

Hi, its been a while...I'm taking a break right now so I thought I'd visit!! Things around here have been busy.
In March Brit hurt his back and had some time off work. He had a lumbar Epidural done which really helped alot. He also learned he has whats called Facet Tropism in his back. He is feeling much better. Work is still at 40 hours a week for him, he has been talking about joining me in going back to school so he is looking into that.
Speaking of me and school its going well, I have had three A's now and three B's which I am very proud of. It's been stress full trying to get into my studies while getting ready to go to Reno. Which by the way is NEXT week!!
Julia's JrNYLC trip is in progress. I posted her official acceptance letter. We have lots to get done before July. She and I are working hard at Fundraising and she has raised $1050 to date! She has a ways to go, so if anyone would like to help her out or wants to pass along the word she'd appreciate it. I turned in her Press Release the other day so watch the paper if you live around here!! I am so proud of her!! She has a few Pre-conference assignments to get done and we need to make travel plans soon. I am so nervous about putting her on a flight...still have to work on that one!
Oh and like I mentioned I go to Reno NEXT week and still have my own FEAR of getting on a plane. I am looking forward to such an awesome experience and the time off but I am starting to think about being away from Brit and the kids that long. I have only been away as long as a weekend and that is tough!! Once I'm back I can concentrate fully on Julia's trip...well and school...see I need a few more of me!!

Jackson is doing well, he has an eye exam Friday. I am hoping his eye's haven't gotten worse but sometimes it's just obvious they must have. Julia also has a repeat eye exam and has been complaining of headaches and trouble seeing with or without glasses. Janaya is doing great and took her Kindergarten tour yesterday. She is super excited about going to the BIG school with the BIG kids!! Jordon is doing OK, he is still having some behavior issues despite a medication change so looks like we'll have to head back to the doctor.
Not much else to report...if I forgot something...well it won't surprise me...Have a great day!

Happy Easter To Everyone!!

On Maunday Thursday Brit and I got to join our daughter Julia in her First Communion. This was a very special event for her and a very POWERFULL service. I feel blessed and am so happy for her to experience this sacred meal.

We spent our Easter here in Madison with my family. It was a great time. We all helped cook and after lunch we had an easter egg hunt for the kids!

I also found out I will be an Auntie again....CONGRATS Kenny & Jill!!

I can't believe we are in April already...now if we could just get the Spring weather??! For the most part our house is feeling better, Janaya went to the doctor last week and got an antibiotic and is doing alot better. Brit is starting a head cold now. Brit also saw the back doctor again today and since things are going well and he is back to work fully we won't see him again unless he starts to feel pain again.

Julia is working hard on her fund raising for the JrNYLC, she has alot to do yet but has some good ideas. She is doing the Dakota STEP tests in school right now (National testing for grades 3-5). She also has her First Communion this week on Maunday Thursday.

Jordon is doing well in school, he also is doing the Dakota STEP tests. He is enjoying playing sports with boys at school and at home wants to as well. He is having some trouble with his behaviors with some self-injurious and destructive actions. I called the doctor today and we are going to see him on Thurs thanks to a cancellation.

Jackson is meeting new friends all the time and loves to PLAY...PLAY...PLAY!! He loves all sports and the Wii.

Janaya is going to be done with Pre-school in about a month! Her friend from last year and all of this year just moved away and she has been real upset about it. They were like 2 peas in a pod and she is lost with out her. It didn't help having Natylie move back to Sioux Falls either, hopefully she meets another "best" friend in Kindergarten. She has been gaining weight and has been having some high blood pressures that have been monitored and now sent to the doctor so we'll see what she has to say about that.

I am doing well I started classes on April 5th so I am officially a college student...YAY!!

I think we somehow ran across some "sick bugs". It started with Brit who had a headache (like a Migraine) and extreme nausea! The next day it was my turn...and I did get a Migraine because of my history with them. Brit feels fine now and I feel much better just can't get rid of this dull head pain and my stomach is so "tight" feeling. Today Jackson stayed home with nausea and a headache as well. Janaya woke up yesterday with a bad tight, barking, deep cough. I gave her some Mucinex and let her go to school. When she came home she looked rough and had a temp of 102. She was layed out all night...was up (with Momma) half the night and all day today. I am fighting a fever that spikes every 4 hours!!! Her cough is horrible and now she complains of "aches"! Today was supposed to be her birthday party at Chuckie Cheese and so now she is heart broken as well. I'm praying she feels better soon!!!

This weekend Natylie and Braedyn will be here and we are helping Papa and Grandma with their rummage sale. They boys are off "helping" them set up now. I hope everyone has a Great weekend!

My dear baby girl you turned 5 today! I keep wishing for time to slow down...I asked Daddy last night if he thought we would wake up today and it would be 5 years ago...I treasure each year. Oh what a beautiful weekend!! So the title of the post ...ya I'm describing the Weather...AWESOME!! The kids enjoyed so much time outside this weekend. All their friends were out and it was fun! Today was debate able...snow pants or not?? Well there is mud...but you'll be too warm...what do ya do??

Update on Brit: There is NO fracture...YAY! He has a sever lower back Sprain/Strain and will be on "light" duty until further notice. It also has helped the doc diagnose an issue with how his lower vertebrae are lining up. He is not doing ANY lifting yet and is doing "paper work" for his boss and the Safety Director. He has an appointment Tuesday at Brookings Pain Management for some injections to help obviously with "pain"!

There is not much new with me. I think starting tomorrow or Wednesday I'm going to start watching Corbin so Jill can go back to work. I think I can handle just one cute little guy and since my schooling will be online I can still handle that. It will only be till she is ready to take him to daycare...or is able to find one...HA! It will be good for both of us!

Is there a way I can combine the blog and Face Book together??? I sure think it would be easier or just that I wouldn't forget so easy. For those of you that don't have FB you should...very fun!
Onto the kids...they are all doing really well. Julia and Jordon bowled in the Pepsi Tournament in Sioux Falls last weekend and my cousin Eric (Julia's godfather) was able to come watch and then we got to go have lunch with him and visit so that was VERY nice! The kids did good bowling. Jackson and Janaya stayed home with Grandma & Grandpa Hoeke and had a fun day there.
All the kids are doing well in school and are anxiously awaiting Spring!! There have been a few nice days where they have been able to go ride bike and play outside and they loved it!! On those days when everything gets warm we have what I call Lake Boedecker in the yard...you have to walk on crates to get out the yard! I am hoping that dries up REAL fast!
Julia and I have been working on some Fundraising letters and packets for her trip to Washington D.C.!! I heard last night that one of the groups has already met and she has her first donation!!!

Brit hurt his back at work last Thursday while lifting with another person. He came home that day saw a Chiropractor and then went for a half day on Friday, back to the same Chiropractor and then hurt all weekend. Monday he stayed home and back to Chiropractor. Tuesday he called back to Safety Director at work and they set up an appointment with another Chiropractor in town. He has been seeing him 2 times a day since Tuesday now and is still home!! At first he thought just a sprain or lower crack. He is awaiting a X-ray reading from Minneapolis as he is thinking there could be a small fracture!!?? Brit is on muscle relaxers now and just doing what he can to stay as comfortable as possible. He goes again to the doc this afternoon and are hoping the results are in!

I'm anxiously awaiting the start of classes in a few weeks I have everything done I needed to do and have orientation on the 26th of March!

I can't think of much else to report right now...but I most likely will after I hit publish..HA! I hope everyone else is well. Have a Great Day!!

Julia has been nominated by her teacher to attend the Junior National Young Leaders Conference in Washington, DC this Summer! This is a picture I took of Corbin last week!! He is so cute and is changing so much and so quickly right now!! He is pushing 8 pounds and is getting more alert and looks around and loves to look into your eyes! Today he smiled at me for the first time!!! I had seen him smile at Jill a few times and he loves to just stare at her and makes the cutest faces...truly precious!! Hard to believe he was only 4#12oz 6 weeks ago...and how much he has changed!!!

Jill asked if Brit and I would like to be god parents for Corbin and we gracious accepted and it means the world to me!! Jill is also the god mother to BOTH my girls and Lydia is like my own, so it just feels so awesome that we are all so connected!!!

So I must apologize for such a break between posts! Ever since I got Face book I have "forgotten" my blog.
Brit and I are both doing well, he is still at 40 hours a week and still not sure when the overtime will return, but we are thankful he has a job at all now a days! I have decided it is finally time to continue my education and since I'm not working we figured no time is better!! I recieved my acceptance letter to Colorado Technical University-Online today and will start classes in April!! I'm really excited and nervous but looking forward to bettering our lives. I will start with my Associates in Medical Billing & Coding and end with a Bachelor in Health care Management.

Julia is doing really well in school and is getting excited for Summer break and going to Middle School next year!! YIKES! She will be bowling in a Pepsi Tournament in the beginning of March with Jordon.
Jordon is doing good he has adjusted to his new meds quite well, a bit sleepy in the am but otherwise good. He had a musical this week about "patriotism" and did real well participating in singing!! He and Jackson got to to go Ice Fishing with Papa last weekend and loved it, they were gone from 6:15am till 5pm!!
Jackson is busy as usual and doing awesome in school! He went to school today with out his "walking boot" for the first time and is not having much pain so that is looking up!! At this point they say it is his Navicullar bone but it won't ossify till he's around 10 so we will have to keep an eye on it!
Janaya is going to be 5 next month and is all registered for Kindergarten. She is having a blast in her last year of pre-school as well. She is having abit of change in her friends, with Natilye moving to her dads and her best friend from school is moving to Sioux Falls Monday!

I feel like I am forgetting something and it will probably come to me when I publish the post..HA! I hope everyone is doing well...

As you can see Jackson is having a bit of trouble with his foot...and he is not happy to say the least. It all started last week when he "twisted" his foot in gym. All week he complained that it hurt and it progressed into constant but he was still active on it and I just thought he can't be hurt that bad and still be doing all this. WRONG MOM!! So I took him in Friday and after X-rays she found that either he had broken it before and now aggravated it or it's something called OS Navicualris. If he broke it before we never knew it and that I think is highly unlikely!! The report will be back on Wednesday and until then he is in a walking boot and after we get the definite on the diagnosis they will have a better idea on how long or if anything else is needed.

He has however had a few good moments...he beat this game last night!!!

I think I have gotten a bit lost in Facebook and forgotten about the blog...oops...Sorry!! Things here are always busy and never boring.
Lots of changes happening too: In no particular order over the last few weeks Britton's hours got cut at work to strictly 40 NO overtime. I am quickly approaching unemployment for many differ reasons I have no Daycare left in about 2 weeks. I have started looking and applying at differ places so we'll see how that goes.
The washer and dryer within a few days of each other gave out on me..YIKES! I do like 3 loads a day for REAL!! We have however come across a slightly used set of nice ones and what a relief.
We had conferences for the kids this week and they are all doing pretty good. Jackson has the occasional talking issue...well maybe all the time he is full of questions...kind of cute actually!!
I also had a conference for Janaya and got her registered for Kindergarten in the Fall...TALK ABOUT HARD!! My BABY going to Kindergarten...handle that later. She is doing great in Preschool and her teacher says she is defiantly ready to move on. Her best friend, like they are tight every day and play with anyone else, is moving away on March 1st! This is going to be sad and now Janaya would like to move....

What a beautiful weekend...the Weather was AWESOME!! We kept busy all weekend starting with groceries on Friday and then a MAJOR house cleaning on Saturday and the Super Bowl on Sunday.
Now in between all that..HA!.. I got my hair cut and some highlights on Friday afternoon...looks great...feels GREAT!!
I was able to get a new Computer this weekend also!! I have been waiting for this for what seems like forever..but it is awesome...I knew my OLD computer was slower than slow but WOW was I in the dark. This is so fast and I am having a blast!!

Found out today that Jill's baby Corbin gets to come home on Wednesday!! YAY!!

For starters now that I have made my "deposit" on my Reno trip I can talk about it!! YAY!! It is a few months away yet but in May a bunch of ladies and I are going to Reno to bowl in the Women's Nationals. Now for me this is just FUN...I am in no way any good, but I make up for that in Handicap...HA! We will be gone 4 DAYS and I will some how have to get on an airplane for the 1st time in my life!! I don't know about leaving the family but yet I am so excited to go.

Jordon had an appointment with Dr. Blake on Tuesday and he is very impressed with Jordon's growth and improvement!! We are going to leave his Vyvanse at the current dose and he is starting a little dose of DDAP to help stay "dry" every night. Jordon has been working very hard the last year and I am very proud of him!!

My mom ended up not having surgery!! She will have to go back a few times for X-ray's to make sure it starts to heal and stay in place, if not its inevitable she'll have surgery! Praying for a smooth healing process!!

I found Facebook not too long ago as some of you may have seen!! I really like it and found lots of people from school...old work...family...blogger...bowling...and LOTS more!! FUN STUFF!!

Monday the 19th Jordon had an appointment in SF with Dr. Ermer. It went pretty well he is taller and lost about 4 more pounds. He is having some trouble with OCD behaviors so he increases his Geodon another 20mg. We see Dr.Blake on Tuesday the 27th also!
Julia has been having alot of stomach pain so I took her to the doctor on Wednesday and found out she is VERY constipated!! She also had alto of air trapped in there so that would cause discomfort also. We are starting her on Miralax so hopefully it helps!
My Grandma had her Bowel Resection surgery on Thursday and came out OK. They said the Liver looked OK but have to wait for biopsy results from the Lymph nodes. We are praying for some good news and recovery for her!!
While my mom was there she slipped on ice and BROKE her ankle!! They got to Rapid City yesterday and she spent the night there in the hospital for pain management. She is supposed to travel home today and if she is comfortable enough wait to go to Ortho in SF tomorrow. They said it is broke in 3 places, so she will need surgery most likely. OUCH!!
Got to go see baby Corbin twice this week!! He is doing really well and is up to 4#15.5oz!! He is off oxygen and just wears monitors to keep track of everything. He is holding his own really well. He is still learning how to eat and breathe at the same time so he is still not quite ready to come home!!

Pulling For Strength...

This week has been one of EXTREME emotion !! If you know me well you know that if you are my friend there isn't much I won't do for you! I have often been told I do too much and am too trusting and giving, although I just feel it's who I am!!
Most of the time it just comes natural to help and give advise or just listen. I don't always have all the answers or all the money in the world to give but I give what I have!! Sometimes though I feel over whelmed at how to help people when "weeks" like this happen and have to pull strength from anywhere I can. I pray for myself and others daily as well.
I have a friend who's husband left her and is now bringing his affair public and has been giving her false hope, she is crushed, and she has 2 children to care for at the same time her life has been flipped upside down, I feel helpless that I can't take away her pain..
I have a friend who just had a baby and he is in the NICU and although his problems could be worse she is very much as any mother would stressed and worried. She also has a child at home who needs just as much love and care if not more, and she isn't able to go see her baby brother because of her age, only on a video screen. I am doing everything I can for them!
This morning I found out that my Grandma ( who was here in September) has been diagnosed with Colon Cancer!! They are going to do a bowel resection on Wednesday and hopefully it hasn't spread too far as she doesn't want to go through Chemo at her age. I have seen this far too many times when I worked at the hospital, I know the risks and odds. I don't even think I can say what is coming...
I am hoping and praying for each of my friends and finding the strength I need to keep strong for everyone....

Welcome to the world baby boy Corbin, he was born at 11:03 PM on January 13!! He is quite small weighing 4# 12 oz, and is 16 3/4 inches long! We have waited a long time for you baby and you are so loved!!
Mother is doing very well, just emotional and nervous. Baby is in the NICU as he needs some help breathing and with his size and all. They are saying it could be a month just depends on how he does. Please keep him in your prayers...

The Time Has Come....

I know I haven't talked much about this...not even sure I mentioned it!! My best friend Jill, is pregnant and is (was) do February 21st. Its been a long pregnancy as she has been dealing with Gallbladder pain the entire pregnancy. Well at 4am this morning she awoke to her water breaking!! She is 35 1/2 weeks along so they sent her to Sioux Falls. She is feeling nervous...and its been 8 years since she has had a baby!! I am praying for a smooth delivery and safe homecoming for them both!!!

Last week was so busy and so FUN! I love Christmas and time with family. We had lots of company and family things going on!

Christmas Eve day I had daycare kids half the day and planned on it being a fun filled "holiday day". My sister arrived with Cooper and Ely and the fun began....Jackson was chasing Whiskars(the cat) under the Kitchen sink and broke a water pipe (more like tube) and water sprayed EVERYWHERE!!!! Thankfully there was a shut off valve and the break was above it so we got that off. We cleaned it all up and proceeded with lunch and play and Papa showed up and when he went to fix the ("tube") it broke again this time below the shut of valve, of coarse, right? Again, Thankfully Brit arrived now and was able to get under the house and shut of the main to the house..UGH! So now parents are here for there kids and hey at least they got their presents and indoor swimming..HA! The next few hours were chaotic but we were able to get ready for the evenings plans with family.

We had a great supper at my dads, Don, with my brother Kenny and his wife Jill and son Zach. Amanda and the boys were there too. It was fun and great to all be together. From there we all headed to my my mom and Waynes. Steph, Cody and my lil Rowdy were there as well as Kyle, Amanda's husband. We opened gifts and visited till late!

Christmas morning Brit the kids and I opened gifts here and spent some family time here before heading to mom and Waynes again for lunch and family time. I have pictures and another video to share. The boys also got to go Ice Fishing with Papa Wayne this weekend so we have pics of that too.

I have one video to share...the kids gift from Grandma & Grandpa Davis was AWESOME!! They have been asking and wanting this for a long time....

Yay a Wii!! Things got rather exciting for the rest of the day...or days...we been playing!! They have a few games already.

Migraines

I know some of you get migraines and know how they are...I started getting one on Monday afternoon and I took meds right away. On Tuesday it was still hurting so I again took meds. Later on in the day I started getting the nausea, dizzy feeling. I laid on the couch and finished my day of daycare. Then it hit full force. Julia and Brit made supper and I laid dizzy and sick and in PAIN. Finally at 6:30 I had enough and Brit took me to the ER where I was given a shot of Toradol and a shot of Phenergan. I came home and slept from 9 pm to 8am. Was up till 10 and still not feeling good so slept till 1:30 pm. Took shower and back to sleep till 4:30. When I got up I felt better but can't shake the dizzy and nausea feeling! I am still taking Midrin today which is keeping it tolerable. Brit stayed home today as I had kids coming and couldn't even take care of my own. I hate...hate.. hate... Migraines! Hopefully it is better yet tomorrow.

Happy 1 year of NO SMOKING!

Today is a full year of no smoking and I can say this is one of the proudest moments of my life! I did this with my husband , and it took all the will power I had to just do it! Now a year later I can't believe it, I did it and WOW it feels great!!!

No a few things I learned about Quitting:

After 20 mins, my blood pressure and pulse rate have decreased.

The temp of my hands and feet increased!

At 8 hours my carbon monoxide level drops to normal! And the Oxygen level in my blood returns to normal! WOW makes you feel like FRESH AIR!

At 24 hours the chance of having a heart attack decreases.

At 48 hours nerve endings begin to regrow ( I honestly didn't know this)

and the smell and taste ability improves.

At 2 weeks to 3 mon walking becomes easier and circulation improves.

Also Lung function is increasing!

At 1-9 months coughing, sinus congestion, fatigue and shortness

breath improve!

At 1 YEAR coronary heart disease decreases to half of a smoker!!

I am now on a path to better health as our my children and those around me!

My hair, clothes, breath, house all smell better!

The color of my teeth and nails is not YELLOW!!

My skin is healing ( yeah thats right)!

So as you see its a good thing I quit!!

Here's whats been going on....

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! We enjoyed spending time with family at my moms here in town!!

How to make a long story short? I HATE the dentist, my mouth is sensitive and seems to hurt even when "numb"! So I have been dealing with a BAD tooth for a few "years" (for real). Well the pain got so bad I had to go, I cried, shook and had a talk with the doc as to why I let this go so long and he agreed to give more anesthetic and I agreed to not do this again. On Monday I ended up with an extraction and 2 fillings. I will go back in January for some more work. I know it's childish in my head I really do but have you ever had a fear you jut can't handle...regardless of your age??

We got our Christmas tree put up the day after Thanksgiving! It looks so beautiful. I even got gifts wrapped and under it!! I have all the shopping and wrapping done except for Brits family and a few friends. Feels great to be so on top of it this year!! Maybe it's just because I LOVE CHRISTMAS!!

Duke is making a trip to the Vet on Thursday. It is time to be Neutered, he will not like me for a few days but I have been advised to do it and told it helps for health reasons and might help with some of his issues.

On Friday I have a doctors appointment. I think it is the annual "fix" Barb week or month..HA!! I know it's all worth it as I feel better in the end!

It's OUR Birthday!!

Today is my own and my nephew Ely's birthday!! I am 29 and he is 4 yrs!! Ely is my first born nephew!
Here's our story...my sister was expecting her first child...I had no other nieces or nephew's and he was due close to my birthday. I worked an overnight (at the hospital) on the 22nd of November and got a call from my sister that she was in labor and on her way to the hospital..YAY and OH BOY..I finished my shift and left to home. I got everyone out the door and changed clothes, I then headed over to my mom's where we headed to Huron( I have been up for 24 hours now). We got there and spent the day walking and walking and everything all day taking only about 40 mins of nap! Into the night and morning Ely David was born at 2:45 am and he was so cheesy...my new little "cheesy one" . It was awesome..and my best birthday present ever! He is my godson and I still call him Cheesy One at 4 yrs old (haha Amanda). So Happy Birthday buddy Auntie loves you so very much! And by this time mom and I were heading home at 5:30 am and I was scheduled to work another overnight that night..and have been awake for 2 days. I called them on the way to Madison and got it switched to not work till the next overnight...I know confusing...but I went home to bed.
Today I have had breakfast in bed and everyone pitching with housework, Brit and I are doing laundry together and we are making "our" family Thanksgiving dinner. We will go my moms with family for Thanksgiving Day but today it will be just us as a family. So on that note Have a Great Weekend!!

Before I ask for advice I must say out loud that this is 2 days in a row that I am posting...wow!!

So onto my dog, Duke as cute and rewarding as he is is a puppy with a hard head and forgets to use his thinker quite often. Some issues that "bug" me are getting rough when playing, you just can't do that with little kids around. He also likes to take food and we are working real hard on he has to stay out of kitchen at meal times and all food is to be eating at the table. He also is aloud scraps but in his food bowl and ONLY when everyone is finished and he is called, it's work in progress but he still tries to approach high chairs and the garbage. He also chews up everything he can find, we have bought him so many toys and he loves them but he will not stop. Then there is the infamous running off and not coming back until a group of people catch him or he feels like it. Now he doesn't do that to Brit just me and the kids. Brit keeps saying you have to get control over him and I know this but I have tried everything and he just looks at me like " um ya whatever lady". I have spanked him, rewarded him for good behavior and tried using his kennel for a "time-out". All Brit has to do is look at him or say his name and he is at his beck and call. Not fair...I'm here all day...everyday!! So a lady I know has a golden retriever and has had a few in the past and she suggested using a shock collar. I thought it was a dread full idea but she said she used to think so until she tried it and her dogs have responded well and quickly. So as time goes on and he continues to do these things I have started considering using one. I just can't seem to get over the cruelty of it, I know the shock isn't that strong but Ouch! Maybe that's why it works so well ? So what do you think? Have you ever used one?

I see I haven't posted since the 13th although I tune in everyday to read how everyone else is doing. Things have been good around our household. I got Julia's school pictures back this week but haven't gotten over to the scanner to show you all...they are BEAUTIFUL! I am making a deal with myself to get there this week I promise! HA!
Brit got sick last week with a bad stomach flu he was in bed from Wednesday till Saturday, he is feeling better each day. Nobody else (knock on wood) has gotten it and that is a first! HA!

The kids all got flu shots last week at the Flu shot clinic they had at the school, I was even able t get one for Janaya. She was the only one that cried and had to be held down ( I know, I know TERRIBLE) which was surprising to me because I can't think of too many times she has cried for shots.

I am doing and feeling well, I had a increase in my medicine 2 months ago and am starting to notice quite a difference in how I am feeling. I felt for awhile that I needed the increase because I knew I didn't feel as good as I could. I have a follow up appointment the first week in December but think we will stay at this dose. I am planning on talking to him about my back as well. I know I don't talk about it much because I have just learned to live with it, again I should know better. Back in 2003 before I got married and pregnant with Janaya I had been working with a chiropractor and a ortho in Sioux Falls and had a bone scan and scheduled a MRI which never happened due to finding out I was pregnant. I have alot of pain in my lower back and now upper in between my shoulders. It is getting worse all the time and even hard to lift my arms to comb my own hair. The problem I have is I learn to tolerate it so much that it gets pretty bad before I go in to the doctor. The lower back I know where the problem is and that is what we were investigating, the upper is new. But with that much back pain and a nerve pinching I need to have it fixed.

I have a few cute sayings from Janaya I'd like to share. Last Wednesday her and I were driving to Mcdonalds and she started to talk about moving to different places and she said "I wanna move to Hanna Montana so I can see my Grandma Davis everyday cuz she so nice". I'm sure grandma would love that..cute!!
The other night the kids were playing a game with the lights off and Janaya is afraid of the dark and so I sat with her so she could be involved. I tried telling her that when the lights go off there are no monsters and its just her same room. When they flipped the lights on she said " oh see mom nothing changes, its just my room" How cute.
When Brit was sick last week she said " daddy you are sick? oh no you got the fro up germ, you need to wash your hands my teacher said and thats bad"
I could go on and on because she cracks me up all the time but on that note Have a great day!

does it go from 70 degrees to freezing and snowing in the same week!! I was so hoping winter would FORGET to come this year. HA! Even though I knew it was coming I still hoped. I think I am getting older because I don't want to leave my house for much of anything. I usually like to go..go..go because I spend all week in the house, but lately I don't seem to mind just staying here..where its WARM.

We haven't done much this weekend, Friday we did our shopping and Saturday the kids bowled. Today the kids went to Sunday school and Brit and I had breakfast at Mcdonalds and ran a few errands, picked them up and here I've stayed. Football is on today and been on our TV since it started..HA! Brit is on a Fantasy Football league so Sunday is his day with the TV and computer from noon till bedtime. Im kindof getting into it and have learned quite a bit about football too.

The kids conferences were on Thursday night. Mrs.Sims said Julia is doing very well and she is really pleased with her. She has great reading and comprehension skills and is very strong in her beliefs and will be a great leader!! Way to go Julia, we are SO VERY PROUD OF YOU!
Mrs. Gabriel had some good things to say about Jordon as well. He is SUPER in Math and loves doing it, even when it's not math time he wants it to be!! He needs to work on reading, talking loud all the time also. His behaviors are getting better and he has changed alot. Recess still brings trouble with a group of boys constantly hurting him we voiced our concerns again and it seems she will try to keep a closer eye on it. Way to go Jordon!!
Mrs. Hojer said Jackson is doing great also. He hasn't had any trouble adjusting and is reading really well to. In his bag of books he is at a level 10 right now and will need to get to 18 by the end of the year which looks like it will be no problem. He is also doing Excellent in Math, he does above what he needs to. It doesn't surprise me since he started doing adding and subtracting last year on his own. Way to go Jack!!

I thought I'd stop by here for a short visit..HA! Days seem to always get busier and the kids are getting older and changing so much! I have been so thankful for this AMAZING October and November warmth..we have been out playing and having fun!!

Some things have changed in the daycare situation and I find myself short again. I had family with 3 children (one being a baby) and had become pretty good friends with the mom. About 3 weeks ago this mom up and left her husband and took the kids and went home to Oklahoma!! I am still in dibelief and can't imagine how he is dealing with this. Also part of my income!!
Ok tonight I got a call from another mom who has a boy that is 3yrs and started when he wa 18 months, and is Austistic. I have been struggling with her on potty training issues and not wanting to allow him to walk around in underwear thus getting urine on the floor, etc! She called and said I found a new daycare, oh I didn't know you were looking for one!!?? Not to worry it's not me Im great, helpful and have been a good friend, just time for a change??!! Ya so I m not feeling so hot about myself and my job right now. I struggle with going back to work, I wanted to have Janaya in Kindergarten and move before I did that. I have narrowed that we will be trying to do the move between February and May thinking the kids could finish school here and start school there! Conflicted on what to do??!!

I can't believe another weekend has come and gone! We are nearing the end of October so fast!! We had a nice weekend here at the Boedecker's.
Friday Brit and I were both off work by 3pm!!! AWESOME!! We picked up the kids from school and headed to Brookings for groceries and such! We were home and unloaded by 7:30 and got to enjoy the evening with the kids!
Saturday the kids bowled in the afternoon and then we did some cleaning. We had some friends and their daughter over for supper, Brit grilled country ribs that he marinates specially and talk about YUMMY!! After supper we all hung out and visited and played till 8pm then headed out to Lake Madison where there was a haunted house. We were a bit nervous about taking Janaya because of her age but they all jumped up and down saying they wanted to go! HA! It started out OK, Janaya was doing great and walking on her own(without Daddy carrying her). It appeared that everything was "decor" and we had convinced her of that, Jackson and Lydia ( both 7) were not so much convinced and ready to cry at any moment. Then it happened, two of the "decor" were real and started to move and make noise, mixed with Andy's "boo's" we got cornered and the two lost it!! I have never seen such a look of PURE FRIGHT on any two children's faces and it took everything I had to hold the two until Jill could relieve me of Lydia! Once they realized how scared they were they flipped on the lights, showed themselves and all was calm. Jackson did take some outside, in the fresh air talking with Daddy to fully calm but it ended with laughs and smiles! The funny part was he was the first to say "yes lets go" and the first ready and in the van. All the other kids, including Janaya laughed! They ended up with treats too, all in all a fun time.
Sunday brought Sunday school and LAUNDRY for mommy! I do it like 3 times a week or more but Sunday always seems to have so much to do??! I hope everyone had a good weekend!!

We had a nice relaxing weekend here! It is getting cold too fast...as if it's ever slow enough..right? The kids had bowling on Saturday, Julia bowled her highest game ever, 136!! YAY Julia!! Janaya did much better sitting and waiting to bowl rather than run laps around the place!HA!

Sunday the kids had Sunday school and Brit and I enjoyed breakfast at Mcdonalds alone!! The rest of the day was R&R and laundry. We are kind of getting into "movie" season again with it being cold. We also got our Halloween decor up, now we just need to go get some Pumpkins!

The kids got a Spiderman cartoon and The Son of the Mask.

Mom and Dad got The Love Guru, and The Happening! Last weekend it was The Eye. All 3 are pretty good movies, but I'd have to say The Eye kept me on my seat or flying through the roof the entire movie!!

I need to find time to get to my moms to scan the boys school pictures for you all! Julia was sick that day so she won't get hers done till the 30th of October! They turned out good so hopefully this weekend I can get that done!

Quite often I think of my blog and quite often I have moments where I say "I should blog about this"!! Now not so "often" do I get here, yes I know! Have I said this before??

So over the weekend the kids bowled on Saturday and we QUICKLY realized that Janaya sits good for the first few frames and then has a friend or two she needs to socialize with! She had fun though so I think we'll keep her in!
Sunday was Sunday school and Janaya got to bring cousin Natalyie along and I think she'll be going more often with her now. After church we came home relaxed and then took the family to Sioux Falls for supper at ....The Olive Garden...YUM!!!

The kids are adjusting to riding the bus, since I have too many to fit in the van they have had to start this again. It has its "issues" but is smoothing out!
Julia has found herself a busy girl and is giving up band. I was a bit discouraged but she's only in the 5th grade she has many years ahead to be weighted down!!

The boys are being boys and really into sports again this year. They still favor football, I'd like to try to get them to a Pro game sometime, FUN STUFF!!

As for me I am keeping busy here at home with Daycare and my normal housework, been feeling overwhelmed with decisions and if you know me I stress EASY! HA! Have you ever been hypnotized or seen it done?? There was a seminar held here in town last night to help with weight loss and quitting smoking using Hypnosis. A friend and I are always talking about losing weight so we went and gave it a try, if nothing happens I'm not out anything!! It was cool, very relaxing and interesting. I don't know if it will actually work but I do know I felt that something happened??!! It's different than stage Hypnotism so we'll see.

Looking for a new Opportunity??!!

So I have some news...some may not like it...some may like it...and some might not care either way..HA! So a few times now Brit and I have discussed moving to a whole new town or city all together and not just a new house!
Well after much discussion, research and talking to our families we are going to look into or should I say pursue a HUGE move to....Fargo, ND!! Job opportunity and schooling for Brit are AWESOME and we need to do whats right for our family. I have never left Madison since moving here in 5th grade, and not sure how to live away from my MOM, but I'm willing to try!
I have found 3 Daycare jobs that would be perfect for me and still be able to take Janaya with me when she's not in school. I have also been looking at houses online and there are so many I can't even imagine seeing them all!! We may rent for awhile who knows.
So now it's just putting it all in motion, the job Brit is going to apply for pays very well and has a relocation bonus plus would allow for him to take classes and work at the same time! I know I never talk about this but Brit was a pre-med student and has the desire to finish school they have Pharmacy program at NDSU and that is another profession he is highly interested in!!
I guess I can't say when this is going to happen, I know it will be sometime between now and May, that would allow for the kids to finish school here this year!
We hope and pray it's a good decision and are putting it in God's hands!!

I think today is Wednesday?! It is looking to be a busy day or few days.

For starters, Janaya Marie is starting her 2nd and last year of pre-school today! She will be in Kindergarten next year...CRAZY! She is all dressed in Hanna Montana (of coarse) and her hair is beautiful with a "hair style" and she can't wait to see her friends!! It just seems so surreal to me how much they have all grown and it just seems to be getting faster each year!

Today is my sisters b-day and she is coming for a visit with the boys! Also my Grandma arrived last night for about 3 weeks! We never get to see her, it has been over a year now since our last visit, and we get to enjoy 3 whole weeks!! I will try to get a pic of her and the kids!!

Tomorrow is a b-day here...have to wait till tomorrow to find out who??!!

Tonight Julia has Gymnastics and I go bowling. A little apprehensive but I love bowling and am going to stick with it! Other thing is if I quit I probably won't be able to go to Nationals in May which is in RENO!!! I didn't go last year and that was my own fault for the arm break! I have never been there, or on a plane so I am not giving that up!

OUCH and I'm Tired..

When I went to bed late last night at 11:00 I should have known then that something was up! I always have a hard time going and staying asleep so it doesn't take much to throw me off as I'm never really on...or something like that!
Anyway at 2:46 Janaya woke me up from a "nightmare" although she was coughing her little lungs out and couldn't stop, she also got me up at 4:15 for the same problem. So I got her medicine and a drink and then it was that there were no "kids shows" on the TV and now its time to watch them?!
So I try to go back to sleep and at 5am here I am awake starting a raging UTI. Needless to say I took the medicine for pain they gave me but it didn't kick in till like 6:30 or so so I am still awake and feel like I got hit by a truck...or something of that nature. Thankfully I have the antibiotic on file at the Pharmacy and have called it in already. When I had to go to the ER in June the doc put like 3 refills so when this happens I don't have to go in and be seen. Not sure if you remember but I had one in beginning of April and June also. If this is gonna happen every two months somethings wrong, that just doesn't seem right, can't they do something. I have given up most caffeine and baths (shower only) as they say they can be contributors, now what??

Here's a little story... while we were out at some friends house for supper the kids ventured outside to play and being it in the country and lots of corn fields they "hike" around alot. Janaya came running in the house....
Janaya: Mom theres something moving in the bushes...its really moving...come see
Me: There is? What is it?
Janaya: Its something..come see...well.. it might be a fox or a snake!
Me: What..Oh my gosh...does it have legs??
Janaya: YES!!
Me: Ok then it cant be a snake...they don't have legs
Janaya: Ya well its a BIG RAT!!
Me (laughing) well Im not going out there then...
Janaya: I saw them its a rat and fox laying down...
Me: LAUGHING some more... ok well go play on the other side then....
There she goes running off to play again...

Lately Janaya has been so funny, I think this last week she has had me cracking up!!

So we have a big weekend planned. Tonight was supper at friends!! Tomorrow is sign up for bowling for the kids! They are so excited and anxious to get started again! Sunday is Rally Sunday at our church and the kids will start Sunday school for the year! Depending on weather we'd like to try to get in some fishing again before its too cold! Have a good weekend!!

Bowling Season

I can't believe how incredibly fast this Summer went. It was too short and i need more time..HA! So our bowling season started last night and was a good and not so good night! This was my first time bowling since last December coming off a broken wrist and did quite well for me! I started with a 150 then 123 & 124 averaging 130 for the night!! My average for the first half of last year was 124 so I was feeling good about that.

So then it was time to visit with the girls again I so missed that in my "adult" conversation lacking world and it came out that I made up with a certain "best" friend! Needless to say my step mom didn't like this and called me a horrible horrible name, I about cried and was ready to leave and never return...HURT FEEL BADS!! I was shocked and ANGRY, I think I still am, this is one of my issues, the "grudge holding" person I am has a week to get over this or its gonna be a long year! How do you forgive someone for something that is so degrading??

Another School Year Begins..

I can't believe how fast this summer went, 3 months seems to get shorter each year!! The kids were more than excited to start school this year and I was ready to let them go..HA! It has left things a bit quiet for Janaya and I but in 2 short weeks she herself will head to her last year of pre-school, ya I know, crazy!!

Julia started 5th grade with Mrs.Sims as a teacher, she was also my 5th grade teacher. She was a bit nervous but said her first day was ok and it would be fine!

Jordon started 3rd grade with Mrs. Nelson and for SPED Miss. Gabriel. He said he had a great day and he likes his teacher!!

Jackson started 1st grade with Mrs. Hojer and LOVES her. She was also Jordon's 1st grade teacher so I already know how awesome she is!!

This was our group on Thursday...CUTE bunch tho!

Today Brit and I celebrate 5 years of marriage!! So many things have changed since that day and we've done so much together! It was a rough start and the odds were against us but today we are stronger than ever and still going!
I'm not sure we'll go anywhere tonight but will probably go to the Olive Garden with the kids tomorrow night when we take them school clothes shopping!

Weekend Recap

This weekend was my 10 year High School reunion. I can't believe its been 10 years already but when I look around at all the people and my own life I see so much change and growth, I know it must have been! It was fun and a good time, now working on the next 10!
Friday night we headed to Sioux Falls after work and ate supper with the kids plus Brae and Nat. (they came down Thursday noc for an overnight stay) Then we took all 6 kids to Auntie Courtney's place for the weekend! She has a pool at her complex so they were super excited. We stayed awhile and then headed to Walmart to make our bi-weekly contribution! It was a late night and then we just watched a movie until 4 am.
Saturday we were up at 9am and ready to go but had no "specific" plans..HA! We went and visited some friends and checked out their new cows and messed in the garden for awhile. When we got back to town we did what seemed like an overhaul on the interior of the van and she looks new again!! We came home and relaxed until it was time to go to the reunion supper. We carpooled with another couple out to Geno's and had dinner and some drinks on the patio. The plan then headed to town and visited a couple places in town but mostly The Stadium. That was the first time I'd been there and thought it looked pretty nice. Another late night of fun!
Sunday we slept in and then got up cooked breakfast together and then went to get the kids in SiouxFalls. We took them to Walmart for a new Playstation controller and out to lunch and came home. Now it's time to hit the laundry for me. Hope you all had a good weekend!!

"Crawbad" Fishing

When you were kids did you fish for Crawdad's?? I did with my brother and sister at Memorial Creek, we used string and liver or hot dogs. Jordon and Jackson have spent much time at the creek by our home and at G-ma's trying to catch them. Today a guy that lives over here and I went to school with told them the best way to get em was the way I used to do it...oh ya DUH mom! So after lunch I "hooked" up 7 strings with meat and off they all went to fish for "crawbads" (this is what Jordon calls them). About 30 mins later Janaya came in and some how accidentally fell in the mud,or so she says. Another mess...another fun time at the Boedecker's!!

BIG Lesson Learned...

Julia learned quite a lesson this week or maybe a few?! She learned the VALUE of a dollar, the VALUE of hard work and your earnings and a bit about friends and how FORTUNATE things can turn out! Ok ready for the story??
Julia has spent much, much time in the last 6 months or so babysitting and earning money to buy things she wants and go places . She did alot of work watching Brae and Nat overnights for Auntie Courtney and alot for me as well. She bought herself a Nintendo DS ($140) and also has 7 games ranging from $20-$30 all on her own and LOVES to play with it. It is very special to her as she worked so hard to get it!
On Monday her and her friend "K" took some of the kids over to the park and "K" had brought Julia's DS along and Julia didn't know about it. When they were on the way back they stopped at the batting cage to play and "K" sat it down by the cage and Julia noticed it then. They played and came home. Later on that evening Julia realized that it was gone and remembered seeing it there, we rushed over and it was GONE!!! She panicked and we called "K" to see if she grabbed it, NOPE!! Now we had noticed 2 boys over there earlier and knew who they were but left it at that.
For 2 days she looked and "K" began to act different and avoided us and didn't want the mothers to talk and things were not good for them. Finally on Wednesday I said "Julia you know the boy at the cage from school lets call and ask if he happened to see it there"? We did and he was gone but she left a message with his mom and that was that. We went on and just before supper the boys mom called and we talked, he had come home and asked for money to buy this DS that the other boy found at the park!! His mom quickly called me and we got stories straight and she gave me the name of the boy who had it. I looked them up as we know them from bowling and called only to find their number is no longer in service...UGH! I wrote down the address and talked to "K" mom and the girls did some mending of the friendship.
Supper we drove over and her and Brit went to the door to speak with the Father of the boy, just wanting to look to see if it was hers! To their surprise the girl who answered the door was PLAYING it !!! Brit asked for a parent and told him the situation and the Dad said yep this is it no problem and told the girl to give it up and get the case and games...and to make sure it was ALL there!!
Julia was so lucky to have this end this way, she got it back totally unharmed and in working order. Also all the games were there and the case!! She was in tears and so overwhelmed, she said she knows now and will always take care of HER things!!

Band??

I was never in band in school, were any of you?! I did play the Piano for a few years and took lessons which was fun! Julia announced at the end of school last year she signed up for band and was gonna try the Trumpet! I decided to not buy one this summer in case she changed her mind! They had told us we could rent them from the school so I planned on that. Band started yesterday for the 5th grade and I went up with her wanting to "rent" one, nope you have to go to 1 of like 10 places..confusing! So I took down a website and headed home and for a reasonable price you can rent to own them from Taylor Music in Aberdeen and it will be here hopefully within a few days. She stayed for the lesson and has it again today and Thursday this week. Will post pictures when it arrives!!

So I had a thought today while cleaning the kitchen about how much of everything we use or go through. I thought I'd share with you.

On average I or we go through...
1 gallon (or more) of milk every two days
2 gallons of juice a day
2 bags of garbage a day
10 paper plates per meal (excluding supper)
2 loads of the dishwasher
2-3 loads of laundry a day
1 11 pound box of powdered laundry soap every 2 weeks
1 pack baby wipes week
I change about 12-14 diapers a day
GALLONS of water
we go grocery shopping (including household misc) every 2 weeks and average $$$
I/We sweep 3 times a day
I vacuum daily
and I find time to raise and love children and receive on average 100 hugs and kisses from smiling children DAILY
I find that life is busy and expensive but in that I find LOVE AND HAPPINESS!!

I know I mentioned a few weeks or posts ago that Janaya and Jordon had some upcoming doctor visits but didn't give a report.
Janaya saw Dr. Karmazin at Sanford Children's on July 25th for what was suspected to be Hypothyroidism and we were quite nerved at the thought of her starting medication at 4yrs old that she would have to probably take the rest of her life! When the doctor came in he was so cheerful and about laughing at her case, I a bit alarmed didn't understand his humor?! It turns out to our benefit the lab made a "mistake" and that she in fact has no Thyroid problem and the 2nd test showed her to be absolutely normal!! YAY!! So we just discussed ways of helping a child with "eating" behaviors to control it! Most of the time I was finishing his sentence or saying "Ya we already do that" because of the program we did with Jordon when he was having such trouble! Anyway GREAT doctor and a healthy girl!

Jordon saw Dr. Blake again on Monday the 28th of July. He is down 7 pounds!!!!! Huge accomplishment for him, and he is 52 1/2 inches tall now! He looks very good and well proportioned! Dr. Blake was very pleased with how the summer is going as opposed to how most of our summers have gone. Jordon needs complete STRUCTURE and if you sway so does he! I am spending my 2nd summer home with the kids and notice quite the difference.
Jordon still continues to struggle with a few behaviors that we can't seem to find a way to stop them completely. Sometimes they are not so frequent and sometimes daily. The first problem which is also our most troublesome is bed wetting! This happens about 5 out of 7 days and is not pleasant for Jordon or I. We wash bedding DAILY and usually replace it quite often. Now to help we have plastic on the mattress and he is limited on drink in the evening and always goes before bed! We talked a bit about medications to help but the side affects are not pleasant and Jordon has always had issues with side affects, if they are possible he gets them!
The second behavior is Stealing. If Jordon wants something he will focus on it (OCD) until he gets it. He loves money, tools and cars and trucks. He takes money from me on a regular basis but I almost always catch it and retrieve it. He has on two or three occasions taken from a store ranging from candy to a toothbrush (it was a spinning one)! We are constantly working to teach him the consequences of his actions. Dr. Blake put it quite frank, " if he steals and gets caught they aren't going to always say oh he has a disability so its ok" ! I have often thought of trying a "mock arrest" but don't know if I can get that done or how to do it, I just know Jordon learns from experience and hands on, words don't phase him and thats just how his mind works?!
On the other hand doctor says Jordon is better than he ever hoped he'd be and to keep up the good work!! I'm not perfect and I don't really know anyone who is so he can't be expected to be either!! We will start the school year and see him again in January 2009. I'm interested to see how school goes as he will not only have a new classroom teacher to deal with but also a new Special Ed teacher as well.

It is a month from school starting and time to start shopping for school supplies and clothes and shoes and oh my goodness!! HA! I also have my 10 year HS reunion this month and my Anniversary as well. Fun and busy thats my motto!!

This weekend we took the kids fishing and swimming out at Lake Herman. They love doing both of these alot. My sisters kids are still staying with us and its looking like they will go this weekend to visit there Dad and will either come back on Sunday or start a new daycare in Sioux Falls where they will live. They have been with me 60 plus hours a week for the last year and now constantly for almost 2 weeks, we are VERY attached and I'm just like mommy to them and Brit daddy so I'm not looking forward to the seperation and trying to find a way to handle it smoothly for them. I got some hurt feel bads about it though!
Other news Daycare is still full, and even though Brae and Natalye will be going I have 2 more 3yrs and 1yr starting within the week. Its a full house, it took some time but I feel satisfied with how I am doing!!
Would like to share an idea Brit and I have been talking about and maybe get some input from others?! We are thinking about trading this mobile home in for a new and double wide model? I have been eyeing one from Iseman Homes in Sioux Falls that is 28X70 4 bed 2 bath and would have 500sq ft extra room and has a family room in the middle plus a more formal living room. That room could be for daycare to keep it more seperate from our personal space and things. My children really do well with sharing there things and letting kids play in there rooms but they would like some "private" space and should its their home! It also would have all brandnew GE stainless steel appliances. It can be checked out on line its New Moon model. Any input would be helpful!

I also am posting a video from the lake swimming, a few weeks ago Brae would play mostly on the beach and not in the water much or without help!

It's Monday...again..

I always dread Monday's as they are forever BUSY and things just seem to be in dissaray. It takes all morning to get it right and then it's better. Today is Monday...and once again it's just off and the phone started ringing at like 8:30 and didn't stop for like hours. I had doctors to call and doctors calling me, friends and family needing help and one more thing...oh ya 10 kids. Thats another paragraph though. HA! For starters Jordon't meds, he takes 2 of them daily every month and on Friday we hit a glitch. Anyway after mix ups it got straightened out and we have the meds. Even one day honestly throws him off!
Then the clinic called about blood results from Janaya that were taken Friday at her pre-school physical. We discussed concern for her CONSTANT hunger and weight. She is 43 inches tall and 59 pounds at 4yrs old?! The problem: her Thyroid! Her levels are low and Dr. Beecher said she will need to check again this week and she needs to see a Pediatric Endocrinologist. That is all set up for July 25th! She said she may need medication to help, YIKES at 4!!! We will meet the doc and see what happens, my mom has issues with hers as well so I might wanna have mine checked, Julia's has and is fine.
Also have two house guests for the week, my sister is looking for a new place in Sioux Falls and in a bit of a struggle so they are staying with us!

OK, onto all these kids, 4 of them are mine to start! Then I have a family of 3 baby Tray's (6 months) 5 yr old brothers started daycare last Monday, they are twins! Then I have baby Camden (2months), a 3 year old boy and my niece (3) and nephew(2). Last week all 11 for the whole week, this week it will be just 10 now till Friday. I went from sort of busy to BUSY, HA!

We had a very relaxing weekend. We hung out alot and did some fishing with the kids. Julia got to go to Wild Water West again on Friday with her Godmother and her daughter all day...Oh I wished it was me...HA! I hope everyone has a good week!

Change of Plans...

Many times in life plans change and sometimes in a hurry! Thursday evening we had to make some big changes in our weekend!! It came to my attention during Julia's party that my step brother Jason was coming for the 4th and we don't see him much ! And then I found out that my sister was going to be having her baby that night!! WOW!! So we had to weigh some things out and decided to not go to Rapid. We instead went to Wild Water West Friday and then shopping in Sioux Falls during the day and then watched fireworks here in Madison with family!

The big news is Rowdy James Meyer was born Thursday July3rd, 2008 weighing 10 POUNDS even and 20 inches long, a very BIG BOY!! He and mom are doing well after a c-section as baby was breech. They released them on Saturday so they came directly to Madison from Yankton and everyone is enjoying the new baby!! I posted 3 slide shows from the last couple days! It was a totally great weekend and everyone had a great time!!

Happy Birthday my Little Lady Julia! Today you are 11 years old, it seems so hard to believe how much you've grown! I feel like it was just yesterday you were born and that we were celebrating your 1st birthday, so many special memories! I love you so much, and love being your mom. As you get older I know things are changing and you yourself are changing into a beautiful young lady! You have many special years ahead of you.

I hope your day is as wonderful as you area and you get all your wishes come true! I am so proud of you and will always be here for you! As my 1st born you have taught me how to be a mother and through all the obstacles of life you have shown me the love of a child is a miracle of God. This weekend we spent time in the evening fishing with the kids, they love it! And once again Mommy caught the first and biggest fish! We also went swimming which is always fun and I got some much needed sun, I always get so white in the winter!
Last night I had an Interview visit for the baby I committed to back in April. Things went well and are on track he is 5 weeks old and starts on Thursday am! I am excited and curious as to how it will go with two babies in the house. Baby Tray is just about 6 months now but is a difficult baby. He cries ALOT and I mean ALOT!! The problem is his parents hold him ALL THE TIME!! I have talked to her about it and let her know that there is NO way I can sit and hold him all day and that I just plain won't. I don't know what to do, I can't make them stop?! It's actually been real noticeable that it is detrimental to him lately. He can't sit like he should, he keeps his fists and feet balled up like a newborn and can't do all the things he should. He is rather small too which doesn't help! I guess its been frustrating and I just don't know what to do. When he's here I hold him when I feed him and some in between other wise he's playing (crying) on the floor, or in the Jumperoo (crying)!! He will play and cry and look at you at the same time, it's so hard. I don't want to give up on him but it is hard to take care of everyone else and him. His mom knows he has to cry sometimes but it hasn't changed her habits. Any suggestions???!!!

We have Family vacation planned for July, I finally got everything planned and set in place! We are leaving July 4th in the early am for Rapid City. We have lots planned such as Reptile Gardens, Storybook Island, Flinstone Park , Cosmos Mystery Museum, Fireworks up on Skyline Drive, and a few other things. I am looking forward to the Mall too..HA!! The kids are getting real excited! We will only spend the weekend out there and be home sometime on Sunday. I have always been home with family on the 4th so this will be different.

Today the van is getting a set of new tires, for some reason they kept going flat on us and they said they just are starting to wear out so might as well! I can't believe how spendy tires are, it will be about $500 for the whole set! And would you believe Brit's car has a flat too, yep and the same side and tire as the van!! Oh and the AC keeps freezing up so it's HOT in here! It's been a great start of the week and Iam hoping the rest of it is better!! Have a good one!!

Bike Crash..

I am posting some pictures from Jordon's recent bike crash. He has had a few falls as all children do but this one was big!! He landed on his handle bars. I wish they weren't so "personal" in view but this bruise is HUGE!

Then we move on to Janaya's latest encounter with BUGS! Remember the tick bite, that did end up spreading down her neck and she had a HUGE red bump for about 2 weeks. I tried to get a good picture of the spot on her head but being in the middle of her hair it was hard. Her eye appears to be at it's peak now so I don't think it will get any bigger!

Weekend Recap

What a nice weekend, and the weather was pretty good to!! On Friday I ended up with no daycare kids at 3pm so we headed as a family to do our grocery shopping! The kids haven't gone that much in the last months so they had a good time "helping" load the carts!!
Saturday Julia left with Kari to go babysit for her daughter in Howard as she had to work. She babysat Sat night and Sunday all day and came home Sunday evening, she did very well and had a blast and made some good money. I don't think I mentioned that I hired her for the summer to be my helper M-F from 8am till 12noon and so she had payday there too!! She is so proud of herself and is planning so save up and buy something BIG!!
Brit, myself and the other 3 kids went fishing that evening and I caught the first fish of the season for us!!! YAY! We had a good time, and have been going every weekend!
Sunday the boys fished in the Knights of Columbus Tournament at Lake Herman and Jackson got 1st place for biggest game fish, a 15 oz Bullhead!! Jordon got drawn for Little Fisher Boy and they also got names drawn for other prizes. Jackson won a new fishing pole with some small tackle and Jordon won a John Green print. I took pictures with my cell phone but this computer will not ever let me upload them here with out them being so blurry its unrecognizable!!
It was a fun time and they had a blast! Hope you all had a great weekend!

Summer Break Here We Come

Wow I haven't posted since the 20th and in 8 days I feel like I have a month of stuff to say!
The kids were done with school on May 21st and I now am the proud mother of a 5th grader, a 3rd grader and a 1st grader! Did you hear that...I am so amazed how fast this year went and how old my kids are getting... SERIOUSLY!! Janaya finished her 1st year of pre-school and will only have one more year of that before Kindergarten...I just keep saying it, trying to believe it! I cried when they came to the van the last day and they were waving their report cards yelling that they are now each a year older!! They have each grown and changed so much in each their own way, WAY TO GO GUYS!! MOMMY LOVES YOU ALL!!

We had a lovely Memorial Day weekend! We spent so much time as a family doing as much fun as we could find. We had picnics at the parks, went fishing twice and had a family cookout! The boys would go fishing everyday if we could! We are thinking about maybe doing some camping this weekend so I'm sure they'll get another chance.

I get so nervous about being at the lake, or mostly the tree's and tall grass that get me. This am Janaya was complaining about her head burning and itching and she kept crying about it, this started at like 6:30a I'd say. She kept going in and putting water on her head and trying to get rid of it, she came running in about 7:45 and said she had a Tick on her head! OMG NO!! I patted her head and told her to just lay down, which then I felt a bump and got up to check it more thoroughly and sure enough found the hugest Tick I have ever seen on a human!! I'm guessing she picked it up at the lake on Sunday! It took forever to get it out and she was screaming that it hurt, poor thing! Well now she has a little sore and it's all red and itchy. I put some stuff on it, I hope she doesn't get some kind of infection from it! It really bums me out I plan my life around BUGS!

Carpets are getting cleaned on Saturday am and I hate having the kids here when that happens, kids always want to touch things and get in the way, it's cool stuff! So the camping could be good because they would be gone, we'll see!
On to the BIG news, we got a Puppy! I am gonna take some pictures, I have them on my cell phone but not the camera yet. He is a Golden Retriever and is 4 weeks old! We decided to call him Duke and the kids are loving him up and doing really good with taking care of him! Will post pics soon! And if anyone needs a Lab/ Retriever mix there are 3 pups who need a home yet!! Have a good week!

These two "darn" bugs are ruining my life!! I am so deathly afraid of both of them and they are invading my home!! I find them on the walls, floor, cats and children! They scare me and drive me nuts, if I see one I itch from the time I do till I forget I saw it! I have dealt with it my whole life and wish there was an ending to it!!

I know this spider is a bit "extreme" but to me they all look this way!

Sometimes the things kids say are cute, or funny, sweet, and sometimes it's the pure innocence of a child that warms my heart! I have two special "stories" to share with you!

Janaya has been having trouble going to and staying asleep the last few weeks as she is afraid of the dark and monsters!? So we have been leaving the bathroom light on for her and sometimes the boys shut it off. So last night when she came in I was not surprised and just told her to go back to bed and turn the bathroom light on. She tried to talk but I cut her off and told her again. ( shame on me, I know) She quickly, sternly and sweetly said "but I don't know how to pray to Jesus!!" I know your hearts are melting, right?! Then Brit says "oh I told the other night that if she got scared to just pray to Jesus to make it better". I said " did you teach her how??" And he hadn't so I told her to get on my bed and I laid down with her and proceeded to teach her the bedtime prayer " Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep" and it was so fun! Then we had a talk about how she has been acting lately and decided to pray for help to be a nice girl to mommy and our friends, again we prayed! She then fell asleep with me and Daddy took her to bed!!

Now I tell you a story of my brave little man, Jackson! If you all know me you will know that I am most afraid of SPIDERS!!!! I am absolutely OCD about them and freak out beyond childish!! HA! Anyway this am I went into the bathroom and of coarse there is a BIG, UGLY, FAT SPIDER on the ceiling and my husband is at work till 1:30! Normally I would panic and start packing to leave, NO LIE!! Meanwhile Jackson (now rolling his eyes) says "I can get it mom". I told him he was too short and he said " nope, I just need the broom" I then voiced my concern that he would just knock it down and we wouldn't be able to find it and then I'd really freak cuz it could get me!! ( i know, i know) Of he went and a few minutes later he yelled it was done and to come see...OMG YIKES!! I went in and he showed me how he made it fall to the towel and then knocked it to the floor and "STOMPED" it dead!! HALLELUJAH!! He grabbed it with a tissue showed me and we enjoyed flushing it away! I know, I know grow up MOMMY!! But with little brave men I might just not have to..HA!
